That was nice of them to let you up there where her room was. Pretty neat to see things through her perspective. I do like how they have chosen to keep her memory alive and in return it helps them out.

What a treat!....to be able to actually see inside the orphanage that Marilyn lived in. This orphanage was written about in many books on Marilyn...thank you Jordan for bringing it to life for us.

I love to hear about the life history of the Woman every man wanted and every woman wanted to be!!! She had a very sad childhood. Her Mother was mentally ill and she was institutionalized for the greater part of Marilyn's childhood. She also lived with a friend of Marilyn's Mother, Grace and her husband. She was in the orphanage that is being discussed here. She was also in several foster homes. She married her 1st husband when she was just 16 years old to escape from her life in foster homes. She became Norma Jean Daughtry. He went off to the navy and Marilyn was alone much of the time. They divorced and Marilyn Monroe started her road to becoming an actress. She did modeling, commercials and she posed nude on a red blanket to make her rent money. She was not a well known actress at this point. She started meeting with the right people, and the studios began to take notice of her. Marilyn Monroe was born!!! Her auburn locks were bleached platinum blonde, Marilyn loved the color of Jean Harrlow's hair. She was almost an instant star. She was the sex symbol of her Era, she started getting bigger and better roles. She married twice, First to baseball legend, Joe Dimmagio. They divorced after 9 months. Joe wanted Marilyn to walk away from her Hollywood life, he didn't approve of it. She loved acting and wanted to return to what she had wanted her entire life. She then married writer Arthur Miller. She and Miller were expecting a child, sadly Marilyn had a miscarriage. She wanted to be a Mother desperately. She had never carried a baby full term. Marilyn also had difficulty with mental illness and addiction to pills given to her by doctors. She was very addicted to barbiturates, such as nebutal, phenobarbital and other pills like sleeping pills. She also took pills to get her going, to give her energy. She drank when she took them too. She was also on antidepressants. She wanted to please everyone. She wanted so badly to be happy and loved. She was a very intelligent woman and a talented actress. She left us far too soon. Marilyn was just 36 years old when she passed away. I don't believe it was at her own hand. I don't think they investigated her death as throughly as they should have. There were some many contradictions and things that were not explained when she died. So much didn't make sense?? I don't think they wanted to delve into it it as deeply as they could have because of the ties Marilyn had to some powerful people. I don't think we will ever know exactly what happened that very sad night. Only one Marilyn and God know. Anyone else who knew the truth is long gone. Joe Dimmagio took care of Marilyn's funeral. He banned anyone from Hollywood from attending her funeral. He swore that Hollywood had killed her. Joe Dimmagio put roses on Marilyn's grave until he died. Her life and legacy will live on forever. Woman still try to copy Marilyn's stunning look. They dye their hair, and they try to style it like she did. They try to walk like her and talk like her. She was one of a kind!!! There will only ever be one Marilyn Monroe. Rest In Peace Marilyn 🙏 you were loved and adored, you are and always will be loved forever ❤️

You blew it out of the park !!!! Wow! I love Marylin Monroe- adore her! And find it particular kind that for Christmas the organization takes on to collect toys for tots/ kids on as a contribution to kids that could really find joy playing with them. Kids who very much deserve a toy . I find the program very kindhearted and warm and I am still very grateful for people caring so much for kids in need so much. Even better that MM’s spirit is still making sure that her kindness is roaming throughout these walls and her unique wärm gentleness keeps on giving good deeds.i really loved this vlog on a personal note- Marylin is my personal favorite. I feel such a strong kinship to her. Her loving contribution keep on giving. Such a warm & kind vlog. Thank you! 🙏🏼👼🏼🥰

It's crazy to think about Norma Jean looking out that orphanage window to the RKO tower thinking of her mom and dreaming of becoming a star while Charles Chaplin had that prop house right across the street, it's freakin amazing. Marilyn had an extraordinary yet brief life and no biopic would do her justice, thank you for this vlog 👍

Hi Jordan! This vlog really touched me. I can only imagine what life must have been for a young Marilyn Monroe. I imagine, her dreaming as a way of coping with the tough parts of her life. I was glad that she was able to turn that dream into a reality. You really have a way of conveying feeling/emotion through your vlogs, thank you. I am so glad Marilyn Monroe fans have helped preserve the former orphanage, and that the business is thriving to help many people. I love seeing little Jah! His coat is sooo shiny! I hope you are able to find a new little winter coat for him since the zipper broke on the previous one. I am glad that you clogged the Chandelier tree, it is sad that they don’t Light it up at night anymore. But, I am thankful that I did get to see it lit up! You are soooo very fortunate to have known Shelly Winters. I first remember seeing her in the movie, The Poseidon Adventure when I was a child. Through the years, I saw her in many more of her movies. She was quite a lady. It is neat to learn that she knew Charlie Chaplin Jr. and Sydney Chaplin, and that the actors used to perform for the children of the orphanage. That is beautiful. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures, and I’m glad you made it home safely! 🦁

What a great vlog Jordan, I'm sure learning a lot about Marilyn's life that you probably can't read about in books. It's so nice that some places still want to keep old Hollywood alive and well. Interesting to see the two theaters across the street from the orphanage, I'm sure if the actors came out on the street afterwards, it would give the children something to look forward to in their otherwise humdrum lives. I hope (and I'm sure they did) well in their lives. Thanks Jordan and a big shout out to Jah! I hope he didn't eat all that cheese at once.
