She wasn't. (Most of the time) She has plastic surgery, bleached hair, gobs of makeup, tailored clothes, corsets, pointy boon bras, she puts on a voice, and puts on voices different from that voice... But rainbows are visions, but only illusions... But rainbows are real.... You know? So she's real..... But what's real is that she's a magician. An illusionist. I love her though! It was different back then. Now a gazillion billion try to do this but they're no good at it and it's worn out. Well... Britney nailed (nails) it? But in her own weird way. ❤ All that's from what I've learned about them combined with 100% my opinion though.

Mitzi Gaynor’s outfit is SO good. Those pants are insanely well tailored, they show off her curves without being just skintight AND she can still do wild moves in them. And her dancing is so good, obvs

This beautiful face was seen by the visionary according to his face, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, when he was pleased to enlighten his face as if it were a piece of moon, and we knew that from him, the visionary saw it according to the fact that a piece of the moon settled on the earth The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, is like the best of men It was like the moon on the night of a full moon, and I did not see a similar before or after it, may God bless him and grant him peace. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, described for me. She said: If I had seen him, I would have said: The sun is rising It becomes clear to us from all of these hadiths that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, endowed him with the beauty of the look, the goodness of the silence, the clearness of the face, and the beauty of the image With a good image and the splendor of the flight I never saw anything better than the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, as if the sun was running in his face He likened the flow of the sun in its orbit to the flow of Hassan in his face, peace be upon him God did not send a prophet except with a good face, a better voice, and your Prophet was the better of them in face, and better Voice Was the face of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, like a sword? He said: No, it was like the sun and the moon

People always say Marilyn was talented, born to be a star. Maybe that’s true, but she had a rough life, extremely abusive childhood. It was luck that she was scouted to be a model, but after that she spent a long time struggling to find work. She took singing lessons, dancing lessons, worked at celebrations and practiced at home to develop her stage presence. Every single move, the way she walked, the way she walked, the way she acted, the way she dressed, even plastic surgery, she all made a conscious decision to do. None of this just “came naturally”. She may be one of the biggest stars of Hollywood’s golden age, but she worked so hard and suffered so much for everything she got. People think things just come to the lucky few, but Marilyn Monroe had worked hard enough to deserve everything she had and so much more she never got.

She did work hard, but she already had an understanding of how to look her best. She actually preferred to pose for still photos because she could consciously position herself just right, with the proper expression for the camera. She knew how to do this in some way, and developed this ability to an amazing degree.

She does her entire song, 1 1/2 minutes, without a single cut, the camera just following her as she moves from the sofa to the musicians and back. You never see such long takes in movies anymore and it's so great, for musicals, to keep the continuity intact. Beautiful work.

Marilyn Monroe is a woman of both genius and grace. She was more than just a comedian/singer. She wrote poems and wanted to extend her career into serious films. But yet Hollywood was always on her toes. Even though she passed away so many years ago, it feels like she's been around longer than any other person from today's world. I think Marilyn Monroe's Biopic needs a remake and by a major studio such as Fox or MGM. We miss you dahling and we love you Marilyn Monroe. 💋🎶🎭🕺🏻😘

@@Pxronas I personally dont think that should take away from the fact that she was talented. I certainly dont approve of her lifestyle but she really should have been taken more seriously as an actress. It's her personal life that made people not want to give her a better shot at serious films because they saw her as an object of sex and a dumb blonde. And this was despite the fact that there were plenty of actors doing the same things as her or even worse and they got far more serious movie roles. Just my thoughts though.

Watch her face when she speaks. She can say 3 words and have 4 different expressions. She learned every way to make herself the center of attention. What tricks she didn't learn she invented. What started out as somebody using her as a dumb blonde act catapulted her into the most recognizable entertainer of all times.

She was actually mimicking Betty Grable. Betty was the first who talked in a specific way just like marilyn does here. There's even an interview of Celeste Holm (I believe her name is.) And she said that marilyn was a huge fan of Betty and used to watch her movies over and over again. Just so you all know.. And she also was a big Jean Harlow fan. So to summarize, she got the looks of Jean and the facial expressions of Betty.

The origin of that famous Monroe “lip quiver” is that she had been told early in her career that she showed too much gum when she smiled, and she was self-conscious about it. So in deliberately trying to keep her top lip lower, she developed a slight quiver. It ended up becoming one of her trademarks.

The way they spoke back then is actually different from how we speak in real life and is actual a made up accent called the Mid-Atlantic accent. It was spoken on television in the early to mid 20th century and was a hybrid of Britain's Received Pronunciation and standard American English or basically somewhere between a British and American accent which is why the accent is named MID-Atlantic. It was taught in theatre school in the past and was seen as an accent only aristocrats and people high in society spoke. And they even taught the made up accent in schools at one point but stopped as it decreased in popularity. That’s why we actually consider this accent old instead of timeless like most accents because this accent was truly made for a time period.

LAZY LYRICS Hello! (here we go!) No sorry, not tonight (that was quick!) Shhh! Yes? (Jim?Jack?Jeffrey?) No,it's just that I'm languid (Well, how do you do?It's nice to know ya) Physically I'm in pretty good shape (brother, you could say that again!) It's my attitude that's passive You know you're the only one I love (that's all, he's hooked) Bye now (bye now) Hello (where are we again?) No sorry, not tonight (she's languid) Shhh!Quiet! (Bill,Bobby,Bruce?) No,it's just that I'm supine (that's avoided-I know) Physically I'm in pretty good shape (see? she did say it again) But mentally I'm comatose (quick boy, the dictionary!) You know you're the only one I love! (new fish, same hook) Bye now (bye now) (She won't get up,she won't go out, baby! what's it all about? Why,why, why, why, why?!) Well,in simple english I'm lazy,I wanna be lazy I long to be out in the sun, with no work to be done Under that awning they call the sky Stretching and yawning, and let the world go drifting by I wouldn't peep through the deep tangled wildwood, counting sheep 'till I sleep like a child would With a great big valise full of books to read, where it's peaceful While I'm killin' time, being lazy Wrong number, wrong number.. Oh Sam,you're sweet! With a great big valise full of books to read, where it's peaceful While I'm killin' time, being lazy!

Props to that piano player in the background! You can usually tell when an actor is pretending to play the piano in a scene, but he sold it for me. If you've never seen the film "There's No Business in Show Business," I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by it. Wonderful musical numbers like this one, but emotional stories intertwined. One of my favorite Marilyn films! And, I fall in love with Donald O'Connor every time.
