... It was a long time sinse I played New Vegas but was all guns in? I know the High power was in called the 9mm pistol. 1911 some version was in one of the expansion packs and was there a unique 1911 or a unique High power? (Bennys custom ivory pistol) the french 7.65 pistol (I need close caption on numbers) not in the game im sure of it. the M16 (some version of it. gamedevs are/was notorious poor whit getting them correctly together whit the full AK tree) Service rifle (semi auto only... I think). the level action was for sure in. not sure what name it had. the german Rifle... Im sure it was not in in any capacity... in fact I done think there was any side loaded gun in the game at all.

@@Zack_Wester For what it's worth, the 1911 was in with an expansion, and it had a unique variant as well. The hi-power was the base game's 9mm. And the service Rifle is *pretty* close but it's gonna few changes. Probably for royalties or something.

@@Zack_Wester The service rifle was some weird AR 10/AR 15 hybrid thing in 556 with wooden furniture that I still want to build IRL some day to pair with a BHP. The 1911 was just called the 45 auto pistol iirc and it was added with the honest hearts DLC with a whole group of mormons who all carry 1911s and practically worship JMB. You get a special commander model from Joshua Graham at the end of the DLC call a Light Shining in Darkness. Benny's pistol Maria was a BHP with a ivory gripped with the virgin Mary engraved on it.

I've got that Swedish coat (centre) and it has to be VERY cold to wear it. You cannot do it up unless it is sub-zero. They were certainly around in WW2 but possibly date back as far as 1913. I wonder whether any would have been in the USA in your period. Very heavy and restrictive of movement - I tried to shoot a bow in one once and that didn't work.

Enemy forces are holed up in the local church, city hall, and anywhere else that offers a decent field of view in case Allied troops arrive. Ian's wife walks up to a small group of soldiers offering "aid" in the form of wine, a baguette, and "companionship" ... "Malaysian desert fatigues and a sweater." Nothing can be more polar opposite than that! Also, I think that's probably why Malaysia (and then Singapore which broke away to its own state) adopted the M16 quite early (it's pretty much adopted as a service rifle alongside the L1A1 and then the Steyr AUG), with M16 rifles well known and in the public consciousness since the 1970s. The Borneo campaign might have been the one that puts the AR-15 to its paces even before it got to Vietnam and convinced both the Brits and the Malaysians to get it, and Singapore was granted a license from Colt to produce it (hence, the designation M16S1 for Singaporean-made A1 guns). I would need to verify all of this, but I think it's interesting to tell the history of the AR-15 and M16 in this region.

@TheOz91

@@johnyricco1220 As somebody from the region (Malaysia specifically), yes, it can get quite cold, but that's an exception, not a rule (in fact 70 degrees F is "cold" for significantly many of us). Otherwise, hot and humid interspersed with lots of rain, so a jacket is not beyond the realm of the imagination and enough to keep you warm. In fact, it's so warm in Malaysia that British residents during the Empire days seeked to settle at higher altitudes to get away from the heat. This why there are places called Fraser's Hill and Cameron Highlands, and continued to be referenced as such. That being said, Chiang Mai is quite further north and deeper inside the Asian mainland. It makes sense that a cold front would form.

If you go along and pay attention to the story of Bonnie and Clyde lever guns continuously pop up. I also have a picture of my great grandfather and his friends from the 1920s and they had mausers, 1899 SW revolver and a Winchester 1892 with a shoe string sling. A few other guns as well but hard to identify.

Probably too late but that photo of Karl might have been a good channel merch item, that coat is simply magnificent. Reminiscent of Brian Dennehy in "Silverado". Even a photo of all three of you together in your outfits would be nice, signed even. The outfits are especially good this time, well above and beyond your normal great efforts. Good job! Thanks can't wait for the actual shooting.

My father-in-law, an Air Force medical service corps officer, carried a Browning Hi-Power pistol in a soft leather shoulder holster with canvas straps under his jungle fatigue shirt (over his OD T-shirt) as well as an M2 carbine. Neither weapon was issued to him. To the day he died he had a red scar under his arm from the rash the holster caused in that humid environment. So, there was two gun in Vietnam.
