easiest diy i've seen. no threads to loosen and no time consuming fab, thanks

One improvement I've seen on systems like this is to add a no-lockdown homemade plywood box underneath the engine block. That way the bike's suspension won't bounce along with the trailer springs. No bounce equals less stress on the foot pegs, and no sideways shift when the trailer hits a bump.

I converted a jet ski trailer into a dual dirt bike hauler and used this method along with harbor freights chock stand and it is ROCK SOLID without putting any strain on the front shocks. I placed my bottom hooks an inch or so forward of the foot pegs so that it pulls the bike into the chock. Great design!

Didnt like this at first sight seen, but I'm definatly a fan of this most simple most adjustable and if ur mounting it onto a trailer it ain't bulky like some strapless systems. Might have to do it.

Doing this on my trailer right now. Have 1/4" steel strips about 4 inches wide laid down and double bolted to the frame rails in 5 spots along the length. Will be bolting down my big d rings with 3/8" bolts and using 3/16" 800lb capacity chains with 750lb capacity locked carabiners. Overkill? Sure but I'm assured nothing will break lol

I think if the front tire were to slip or bounce it could tip to the right and slide down but if you just put a tire chock on the front..it wouldn't ever fall with this system.

I have been running this set up for a couple years now. Without the wheel chock, the handlebars would turn and the bike would start to lean. I installed a wheel chock and haven't had a single issue since. And i have put over 5,000 miles with it loaded this way. Cross country a couple times.

I like the idea but if you had to load two bikes, your anchor points would now be off to fit two bikes?

My straps snap at times even though I don't snug them too tight. I was thinking that chains might be the way to go but nobody seems to use them so that's why I've been leery...I may try it though..

I like this approach and have incorporated into my enclosed trailer setup. What are the pitfalls? I'm concerned that the popping back and forth as you drive will put stress in the d rings.

What is the rating of the carabiners you’re using? I would be concerned of them being the failure point in a collision, where forces are multiplied) and your motorcycle(s) become deadly projectiles.

If you have tie down anchors built into your trailer or toy hauler, you can build your own system using standard 2x2 steel square posts, purchased here: smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008J52HC2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I made our tie down system for $150, and it transports 4 dirt bikes. You can see how to build it here: photos.app.goo.gl/zTzcnSG23NwojJZT7

I'd trust this more if I hadn't had a Yamaha enduro's foot peg snap under me once. I'd never even jumped that bike.
