I’ll admit to really loving the character* (and that is a big fucking *) From his name to his Mouth of Sauron/ Judge Death design, I’m quite a big fan. Other than being a little to skinny for a Batman (for my liking). I understand they want that joker lithe look, but that man lost like 70+ pounds of muscle! Now that asterisk is that I only love him in these two specific stories. In Metal we are introduced and given a fun character with a great design. In death metal we get to see a writer make a response to his character being overused and run thin, and I love it there too. He just pushes the Batman in a way that few other characters can. He annoys him like the Riddler, while still making him worry like the joker. It’s a fun representation of how when we fight our fears and depression, the battle is both important and terrifying, while also being a fucking slog that makes you go “really, with this fucking shit again”. Batman is forced to feel the annoyance of dealing with fucking Batman. Batman in Metal: I will literally team up with the Joker to stop you! Batman in Death Metal: Bitch I swear to every God that I have punched, I will literally team up with your fucking corpse to stop you!

I know some people are not fans, but I absolutely agree with you! Combined, these two events are such a wonderful love letter to The Big 3 and DC as a whole. Each character is presented in a fair and interesting representation of their souls. An enticing look at fear, depression, and the comic book industry. It beautifully marries the absolute insanity of massive comic book events with the character retrospective of a smaller side story. You’ve got Batman forced to acknowledge his greatest fears and his limitations… but you also get plastic man is a fucking egg! Perfect! It’s also my favorite Crisis event ending, just a great writer going “hey gatekeepers, if someone likes it, it’s canon!”

And Age of Apocalypse for Marvel!

i feel like something like this should be explored in animation/spiderverse style. The level of craziness would be tamed in live action, maybe. Still would be cool to see tho

@@hanh7395agreed! I’ve no interest in seeing this in live action, if it’s gonna be that much CGI, just animate it! Not to mention that DC animation has largely been exceptional for over a decade! Something with the freedom and rating of the JL Dark animated movies. This has such amazing potential!

@alister101 I used to watch his content, now I mostly avoid it. It's low quality garbage anyways, all he does is take money away from the ACTUAL creative people who actually make the comics. Why should I be "grateful" for his low effort content, that's actively harmful to an industry I love? Grow up, fanboy.
