I wish I knew what you were doing - the items you were working on were removed from the camera vision.

What would the process be for the dcc on board version? Just install a speaker and replace the decoder with a sound decoder?

No idea, I have not opened up a DCC equipped version. If it has the same main board, then the procedure should be the same.

Best way to fry a decoder. Too much heat. Need spacer between decoder and weight

Ah, yes. The classic sound of the N&W, the EMD 710. LOL!

Which specific model of the Select did you use here? 73400 or 73900? I have the same Loco and want to install a sound dcc system. Would you recommend this one or a different model after using it for a while? Thanks! Great video!!

The correct file hasn't been released. I'll make a video of it when it does.

DBRX Drunk Bee Model Railroad the N&W J Class uses a Hancock whistle of the same type fitted to UP large steam locos, SP GS 4 and various others...I think the sound file for say UP 844 or SP 4449 (both available from ESU) would be a close match. Obviously you would have to select the 'stoker motor' rather than the 'oil burner' and a few other tweaks, but it would certainly convince most people.

@@struck2soon up's whistles are different, 4449's is not the same either or a close match.

Southwest Virginia Railfan you need to back up that statement with some facts. My research suggests that the Hancock whistle was fitted to all the aforementioned locomotives, what can you tell me is different?
