Prismatic is the reason they rebuilt the light subclasses. They made everything modular so they could combine them. This all started with stasis and the aspects/fragments system. Not saying prismatic was the vision then, but… it might have been? This is definitely not a “panic” response. There’s no way this wasn’t a long time coming.

As for if Prysmatic was planned to release or not its hard to say. The tesselation (the pre-order exotic) very much so hinted towards something like this happening in hindsight given how it works and looks. Plus how hard I imagine it was to make this work leads me to belive this would take to long to do in just three months. That said, It seems odd that Bungie wouldn't have put something this huge in the original reveal as its a major hype moment (as shown by all the chatter about it now). My best guess is they were working on it but were not sure they would have it done in time so they didn't reveal it until they got the time to finish it with the delay. The exotic thing might be brand new due to the delay though as I could see that being manageable to program in a few months, but that's just a guess from someone who has never developed a game.

Talking about the color in the new environments. If you aren't playing Destiny 2 with a good HDR monitor or TV (Oled or VA panel) you are really missing out. D2 is still one of if not the best HDR game out there. The way the game uses high contrast colors together in its color palette makes for a some incredibly striking visuals.

I'll tell you what would be super cool is if shaxx's area in the tower has real pvp games playing on the screens. Or recording from peoples games they could upload . So you could come watch. That's a interactive social space. Think mass effect 3 the big DLC where you got the apartment, to show off all your trophies and have parties. And there was a functional arcade area with mini games and Lazer tag. Where you could win armor and weapons. Imagine a cantina where you could buy and sale weapons or trade with other players. You could buy or over hear secret treasures or collectables locations. or hints to where they are hidden. Emblems exotics special sparrows or parts for your sparrow golden age tek, imagine being able to play space invaders, or little mini games on arcade machines. So many other sci-fi games and games in general have done that so well. Imagine that venders all had different stock of weapons, modes ,emblems and shaders, and they rotated that stock. And that by doing little taste or bounty's you could win their favor or loser it . By screwing up the taste or declining it. And it forced them to raise or lower the price. Imagine having hints to up coming content dropped over the D1 style loud speaker in the tower . Imagine a social space with 3 or 4 super unique looking areas almost like how the speakers was in d1 each with it's own wild visual aspects and secrets. Places for people to take screen shots and hang out. You guys might not be into social hubs. There are a lot of different kinds of gamers. But I firmly believe that could be a real boon to the game as a whole. Specially since they removed so much content and so many patrol zones. I don't wanna spend 90% of my time on fire team finder looking for 1% of the community who are not toxic A holes in game. Or reading their racist, or sexist, or vugler screen names. That stuff kills the soul. I just wanna explore patrol, and enjoy a nice visual social space now and then. I hate going to the D2 tower but I loved going to the D1 tower and the reef and the iron temple . It is a nice break from everything else. Sometimes pp need a break for the constant, find some body to do this find some body to that. Match made activity . 😂 But hay that's just me . More power to ya

If you are the fireteam leader you can still access your vault from the hall of champions. Open your map, click the tower, click the fast travel point, then push the vault button

If you think this was a result of the extra time you don’t understand how hard this would be to program and balance. The new enemy type may be what they developed with the extra time or even the ui changes but this prismatic subclass was planned from the setup of the final shape. When they first announced the name of this expansion back when beyond light came out many in the community were guessing at what the final shape meant and many thought we would be able to wield the dark with the light at some point.

Prismatic was foreshadowed in the original trailer for final shape when the titan wields an axe! The colours be the same

Tbh, my only complaints rn are Control spawn points being trash atm from my experience. Constantly spawning with enemies behind or next to me and nowhere near my team. Not fun when you die 3-4 times in a row and cant even take a step out of your spawn animation. Also that skimmers weren’t just introduced as a new vehicle type and being behind an event and/or paywall. Other than that, I’m actually optimistic for the first time in almost a year. Honestly, seems like they looked at Warframe and said “let’s the the Destiny version of that” and I’m all for it.

I think it’s very concerning to go from Joe Blackburns “emergency” video message to the community to him leaving the company and now we hear Luke Smith reassuring us that Destiny isn’t going anywhere and will be fine. Just seems like Destiny got worse with Lightfall because he left to work on Marathon, Destiny 3 or whatever. Hopefully The Final Shape can deliver but if Luke Smith wasn’t involved I doubt it be any good.

And they picked the supers they felt have been under used. I hate that this is them ounce agein trying to force people into playing with what they think is cool. Nobody likes stasis warlock bro we only use it for the turrets. It Blows as a super ! Stop forcing people to play how they want. Encourage pp to play with how they want. And mix it up a bit. Why is the warlock the only class with 0 physical attack supers? It's so Dumb. To pigeon hole a class into all they can do is float and throw stuff.
