This is so weird to me. It looks and feels like the Tech from Warhammer. "Just turn this button, rotate this lever, suddenly this HUD comes up and somehow shows the target." Almost like all you need to do is pray to the machine spirit and the plane works.

And I thought flying the Mig-21 was like being a conductor on a steam engine with it's old ass systems. This feels like a Steam Punk Fighter jet meets old school type writer. It's gonna be some work to get this to work properly, that's for sure. (And I mean this in a positive way)

Relatively good, with the giant drop tank in the center and high(ish) bypass turbofan.

Really looking forward to this. Not sure how I will get my head arround the computer system yet though. I will probably end up with a lot of post-it notes arround my screen, because I can hardly remember my 4-digit PIN on my phone. Oh well....

Setting waypoint three is as easy as 123..... 88281994910009399483910388737191938181818192.3 start, input mode, now if you have the Swedish model you can only do this at 25.555% throttle, but if you have the German you have to be full afterburner, but if you have the Swedish model of the German version it's 50%. Jk I'm hyped as fuck

I am sure a lot of people are on the same page as you. very strange, and the preflight things he talked about are very under explained. This video isn't very "in-depth" But i am hoping that after the release some good tutorials will come out.

Proximax9 it's an offset pop up profile, typically used when the target location is a known bearing and distance from a prominent land mark. It wasn't shown here why you would do this and it would be sorted pre-flight. This looked more to showcase that it was possible.

Joseph Giampietro so essentially in DCS conditions this would be rarely used, unless you are just doing it to sort of "role play"

Megaladon7k quite the opposite. There is no gps in this aircraft, and no TGP. The ag radar is used to designate targets, many of which will not show up well on radar. By preplanning a landmark to reckon off of you can use the radar to help bomb targets in poor visibility conditions, even ones that do not show up well on scope.

The radar screen don't come on when the radar is only used in ranging mode ! The only thing the radar did was tell him the optimal release point for the rockets but that was on the HUD!

At least the Maverick Rb05 RB04E and Sidewinders where used in the Grudge match aside from rockets, so those work to some degree.

Can you add new Waypoints later, when you fly the mission or must all setup in the Missioneditor and you can't change anything later?

I'd take this over the mig, although I have the mig and will have this. It's personal preference if you're only taking one. I like the low flying attack role and the Viggen just looks awesome.

In a recent AmA they did on reddit "mid to late 2017" was mentioned by the devs. That's a very early estimate, so take it with a gr- actually a whole jar of salt.

9 is the TAKT code for setting a waypoint to be a target waypoint. :)

The waypoints are the dual row of buttons along the side of the cockpit. The Number pad is used to send commands to the computer so it knows what to do. If the pilot had a keyboard it would replace the numpad !

He pressed 9 to select which operation he wanted, namely "mark regular waypoint as target waypoint", then the button marked B2 to select waypoint 2 (B = "brytpunkt", Swedish for waypoint).
