Awesome! Now I have a reason to perform the full preflight and startup proceedure. Great to see you incorporate real world crew chiefs and take Bogey Dope's work even further (with triggered actions). Looking forward to the release. Also looking forward to DCS save game feature, since my play time is limited. BTW, when I saw the EPU pin pop up, I thought that was a brillant idea! Ahh...I noticed the chief said "rudder" this time, instead of "Yaw", YES! ......just messin with ya Bogey Dope 😂 Thank you all for everything you do for our community and hobby!

More of a Navy guy myself, but this looks like a ton of fun. Strong work. Your campaigns are always well researched, well designed and tremendously challenging. That's what "study level" means. Please don't be discouraged, and keep up the good work. Looks like I am going to have to learn to fly the F-16 after all... Both the Navy and the Air Force can still say "BEAT ARMY!" ;-)

Dude. DUDE! That's awesome. I'm impressed. I don't have the Viper module but this seriously makes me want to get it. I hope the Hornet side of this upcoming campaign has something similar (but if not I'll get it anyway). P.s. I always read the campaign docs. There's really important and useful info in there... lol. Seriously, it makes for a more enjoyable campaign having read the docs.

Very nice indeed! I would say the sounds of the chief moving are unnecessary. The pilot wouldn’t be able to hear you moving around anyway. This does bring back memories. I do find it funny that every base had slightly different procedures for start up.

I know you wouldn’t hear him, but since you don’t see him either this helps you ‘imagine’ that he’se there and moving around. Otherwise the average dcs player wouldn’t know whether he’s waiting for the chief to move or the trigger is stuck

I had been on the fence about this one if I'm honest as I struggle with the Viper and whilst I know deep down I would buy this campaign anyway as its a reflected product, now I can't wait to give it a go. This is the perfect opportunity to finally sit down and properly learn this module.

Awesome stuff! Interesting to watch this and see how we do things different. For the most part its the same, but in my experience as a Viper crew chief I've always done SEC check first right after checking 6 green. Then after I'll do EPU check. Most pilots I know (with exception of a few) usually open and close speed brakes after cycling the rest of the flight controls. Usually the closing of the speed brake is an indication they are ready to perform a FLCS bit. Also talked with a pilot before, and from my understanding they leave avionics off until after EPU run up because apparently it can mess with the avionics on run up potentially messing them up. Again though this is all my experience. We don't do everything the exact same it seems. I've also heard start up procedure is different based on country. I've talked with crew chiefs from the Netherlands and their procedure is a bit different from how we do it in the US.

That's really interesting, thanks a lot for sharing those details. I'm not surprised that everyone does things a bit differently, and have their own way - and yet everyone's way makes sense, there's always good reasoning behind. Having worked with 2 Tomcat fliers, Paco and Bio, I noticed the same, how they too, recalled the procedures that were the same on paper, but always a bit different in reality.

Just found your channel yesterday. and subscribed..... I left a comment on your Case I landing for the Tomcat the other day.... I'm very impressed by the quality of your videos and that Speed and Angels download campaign. Retired Navy E2 driver from back in the 80's for a bunch of years so these vids are really fantastic. I wanted fighters but the Navy and God had other plans for me... Thank you for your hard work on these videos and your DCS content.... superb stuff..... this video included, even if its Air Force..... HA....

Thank you for your service and your support! To be honest I always admired E-2 pilots landing on the boat more than fighter jocks. Landing a twin engine prop plane seems much more difficult - and you can’t eject, can you - but then again I never tried either :)

Looks like I finally have to learn the full start up sequence of the Viper:D While I left out some of the tests in the past, I like that now I am incentivised to do the whole thing. Great work!

Looking forward to giving this one a go! I’ve been using Bogey Dopes VA module and enjoy the immersion. One thing that I’m not sure about; once you initiate bit test, you say start INS align, but wouldn’t, even the slight, movement of the surfaces throw off the alignment? I’m assuming no if you put it in there, but I thought ins doesn’t even like control surface movement?

I don’t think it affects the INS, otherwise Carbon wouldn’t have told me that it can be started

Great content as always, hope to play your campaign again... In my opinion I don't know if your already think about it, but if is the same crew chief on every mission, it will be awesome if some lines refers to each other by the names and also a little chat about the last mission, something like tht will be more cinematic, not so realistic but a way to give the crew chief more protagonistm.

I've got to mention the foley in the crew chiefs radio calls. I'm assuming it's the crew chief running from one side of the aircraft to the other. It sound like it was recorded in indoors or something, but I'm no pilot. Other than that this is great! We are so blessed to have all these real life professionals making content like this, thank you.

Sorry I didn’t have a chance to record footseps of someone running under a fighter jet from within the cockpit 😊 - it probably wouldn’t be audible at all anyway, it’s mainly there so that the player knows that there is a 10 sec break because the chief is moving around and not because the triggers don’t work.

So in reality, the crew chief is push to talk so you wouldn't hear movement or anything. You would be hard pressed to even here the crew chief anyway when the motor is up and running especially with good ECS. I've joked around with student pilots and have replied with chicken or tuna fish and they continue with the checklist. Hard to hear 😅

Thanks! Although it's a set of 100-150 trigger lines in the mission file, you can't really 'implement it' for modules, unless you make missions for said modules and set up all these triggers. It's 100% mission building stuff.

Thanks. There's nothing to implement, really, it's 100% mission editor stuff, over a hundred trigger lines in the mission file.

There is also DCS Ground Crew - Massun92´s Asset Pack which is not bad but you have to know how the triggers work and in multiplayer everyone must have the mod.😑

I appreciate the realism involved with the start up, but is there a way I could just do my regular cold start without having to spend all that time making control services move and testing systems and I know we’re gonna work? It’s a cool feature, but I might only have an hour and a half to enjoy a mission before I have to adult, husband or father. But real men don’t auto start.

I did. You said there was a secret auto start option (nope) or you can use time acceleration. I didn’t know if there is a way to just start up as you want without accelerating time and stopping each time the chief gives a command. Not a deal breaker by any stretch…but does help with my limited time

I'm sure your sycophantic fanboys will throw all their toys out of the cot over this...but thats how they roll and this is how I roll. You make good campaigns, for the most part (disappointed in certain aspects of BNBOB and some of the Big Show....bravo for Beware Beware) , but you have this unattractive bias against those of us who dont quite have unlimited time to spend on doing this exactly as you deem fit! Your thinly veiled swipe at those "who buy study level campaigns and complain about study level" thats just pathetic and narrow minded. Great job on the work around though, as condescending as it was.

It’s not pathetic nor narrow minded, it’s reality. If only I could get the time back that I wasted replying to entitled, insulting comments ( I don’t mean this one) because my idea of fun didn’t match theirs. Nobody forces anyone to buy a campaign. Everybody does whatever the heck they want in DCS. But if you want healthy food you don’t go to McDonalds and then complain, you go to a salad bar. Or if you wanna read but only have 10 minutes, you don’t pick up LotR. Simple as that. I don’t have any bias against anyone, there are 100s of ways to enjoy DCS. We all have different playing styles. But if someone wants to do something that by definition won’t match their playing style at all, and then be a Karen about it, that’s pretty annoying.

You don't seem to be able to grasp the nuance of that statement and furthermore have constructed yourself a magnificent straw man to show some faux outrage, even though you've said you enjoy his campaigns for the most part. The most simple way to explain my point is this: go join a multiplayer server, then start complaining about the need for a stable and fast internet connection, and the lack of a time acceleration function. Then see how ‘condescending’ the replies will be ;)
