DCS F-16C Bonus 1 - Markpoints

In this bonus video I demonstrate the use of Markpoints in the F-16. A super useful feature which allows you to quickly create reference points using steerpoints 26-30 via overfly, HUD, FCR, TGP or HMCS.

Can't forget about the other bonus tip for markpoints. Pressing M-SEL after creating one will make that your currently active steerpoint. Saves you from going back out to the CNI and steerpoint page. Good video.

Hi DH Markspoints work every time I use it, the problem is that there is a bug! You will need SEQ dobber to cycle a round from TGP to TGP! Thanks for all your awesome videos :)

Great videos / tutorials DH. Is there any chance you could post the mission file you typically use for weapon range? Or maybe do a video tutorial series on creating a weapon range?

The one thing I would guess for why the TGP might not have created a mark point successfully is no range information. The TGP and ATFLIR are perfect capable of tracking an object or point visually and giving azimuth information to weapons without range. It takes the laser to know how far it is and generate coordinates. In the A-10C and Shkval, laser ranging can be automatic during most operation, but it isn’t always. Even the F/A-18 using the ATFLIR laser ranging isn’t automatic to get coordinates for TOO bombing.

You have to have the markpoint set to the TGP before you create it. It's a known bug.

Aaah okay, so i have to select Markpoint page on the DED, sequence to TGP, soi to TGP and then tms up 2x?

I have tried dropping mark points with the hud, but when I go back to them as steer points they are always off-set to where I placed them.....

TGP Markpoint didn’t work because your weapon was in CCIP. You need to switch to CCRP. You always want to check your on Markpoint page, or VIS or CCRP. Imho F-16 mark/stp & TGP system are a hot mess.

trying to get this to work right now as mostly new to flight sims and this is frustrating... it seemed easy in the videos then there are all sorts of details and buttons and pre-reqs left out by each video...

@@FamiliarAnomaly You should watch tutorial videos in sequence of older to newer. At the time of this video, the OP assumes that most pilots already know all the hotas shortcuts by now. This is the norm with many KZfaqrs. :P

That's going to vary based on your keyboard layout and HOTAS. Best thing to do is go into controls, choose search and look for IFF IN.
