In real life Turkey engaging daily in air violations with Greece with multiple dog fights. Usually it's F16 Block 50/52+ and old F4 Phantoms by both too, but when Greece sends 2-3 mirages 2000EG/2000-5 the fights are done fast.

Loving these videos. I just got into DCS about a week ago and bought the F-15C module. Im getting the hang of Taking off, landing, navigation and using missiles. But dogfighting like this i suck so bad at. As soon as i make some maneuvers i bleed so much energy and i stall, cant get the enemies of my six :(. But im loving DCS really much.

Great video, I find the F-18 vs. the Mirage series very interesting because they represent two very distinct aspects of fighters (sustained turn rate vs. AOA). The video and the accompanying explanations allow me to get a better understanding of these principles and how they interact in general more than just getting a better grip on the specifics of a F-18 vs. Mirage dogfight. As such, I can actually use these videos to improve my Flying Circus (WWI !) dogfighting, even though the planes are vastly different, so thank you so much for making these videos! Also because of this, I'd be most interested in other "studies" of other general fighter plane aspects and how they interact. Maybe there are other fighters that have somewhat of a specialisation that can serve as an illustration of how general principles interact in a dogfight?

We have Mirage 2000 serving in the Greek Airforce in two versions,the -EGM/BGM and the fare more advanced Mirage 2000-5mk2,armed with AM-39 anti-ship missiles,MICA IR/ER ,Magic II,SCALP-EG stand off missile.A hell of an airplane taking good care of the turkish incvadors in the airspace and FIR of Athens,Greece.

Good dogfights; seems that with the Mirage the fights, at least vs Hornet, are more strategic than procedural. And never, never loose your situational awareness, this on the ground i find it even more difficult; when you're there looking at the map and all those damn sectors and you think to yourself... "where the fuck we are now!?". Anyway, good dogfights on this full moon's fryday; have a great weekend man.

@@GrowlingSidewinder I dunno. I reckon people have gone a little soft with gun sights. Used to fly Falcon back in the day with the funnel and that was just fine. We're maybe getting too dependent on some system telling us where to shoot, rather than just being able to eyeball it with experience. Having said that, I've had something like 3 minutes in the Mirage, so I'll get back to you in about 5 years when I have similar hours under my belt!

Biggest takeaway besides how even the 2 fighters can be if you fly optimally is don’t reverse a turn and give a Mirage a chance.

An interesting fight would be the Mirage agaist the new F-16, when dogfighting the F-16 can keep more energy, but the Mirage can get extreme AoA even at great speeds !

Growling? I'm at the tacview portion where you explain when to run. It have me an idea, I'd love to see a video or two, detailing in a side by side format, the turn capabilities of different aircraft. I think of this because, I'm not quite understanding how the mirage is supposedly a lethal fighter when it's so easily outperformed by a rate fight.

It's no slouch in the rate fight the hornet is just a rate monster (highest °/sec) in the modern fighters, its lethality is because good pilots can control the "nose fight" practically indefinitely and maintain 4-8 o'clock position easily. It's very forgiving airframe for newb pilots deadly in the hands of a master, these fights are entertaining because both these guys have super sloppy guns (I'll fully admit I'm worse than them in this case) but train train train itll help a lot. P.s. if the nose fight phrasing is what's hard to think about, think multiple chained aerobatic maneuvers vs turn n burn.

Mirage really needs the gun to have elevation adjustment. Ridiculous how low it shoots. I know there is seat adjustment. I wonder if that would be a solution. 2 of the best KZfaq DCS flyers duking it out. Great stuff

@@Carlos27thFS not sure why any air to air interceptor or any plane would have a downward firing gun except for a ground attack only ship. I would still rather have an A2A gun and adjust ground attack angle as needed. Ground targets are generally not moving very fast.

I came back to this video after watching GS take on the Rafale with the F-18 and then with the F-22. Although in DCS the Rafael is a mod with estimated capabilities, the actual Rafale being a gen 4.5 jet with some of the most advanced technology available and spectacular performance will provide Greece a significant advantage in potential aerial engagements when they obtain their 18 ordered jets in 2021. Now only if the politicians in Canada can get their act together and finally select a new fighter plane.... 🇬🇷 🇨🇦

The HAF also has the Mirage 2000-5 mk2,with the RDY multi-tasking radar,as far as my knowledge goes it is superior to the Turkish F-16 50/52's.

If you lose visual, is there a default maneuver or pattern that you can execute that would keep you more safe, or one that may help find the target again ? It seemed on both of these, you went into a level flight or pitch only to see if you could reacquire.

Great video, great tactics and maneuvers as usual! But, please, make Magic missiles available again for the Mirage on RED side in your server! Someone say it's a bug and they are able to grab them from ground crew in the airports. I just cannot see them, like many others, when I select the last wing pylon on "air to air". Please solve that! :) Thank you in advance!

Impressive how the mirage was on the hornet's tail and pulling 2-3G and the hornet constantly failing to escape and pulling like 5-6G at the same time.

Did you make F-14 vs Mirage video by any chance? I feel like I'm invincible in the F-14 ... so much raw power. I would love to see a way how to kill an F-14.

the F-14 would rape the mirage lol just rate its way all the way down to the deck and then hold it down and choke it out. i dont think there is much the mirage can do gun wise to the F-14 short of the F-14 making some insanely terrible mistake

Do you do any F-4 Phantom vids? That is my all time favorite plane. I always use her for Ace Combat and other flight sims because my dad served in Vietnam and I'm sure that if it wasn't for that bird...I wouldn't be typing this. (I always refer to the Phantom as a "she"...a Navy habit)

hey man nice to see you again, no typhoon videos as far as i know there are no mods for that in DCS, as for the F-18 the UK doesnt have hornets, its just fictional.
