thanks so much for the comment! I'm not sure how many people are as mad as us running DCS on the deck but at least it takes some of the struggle away. When i travel with work i love that i can chill in the hotel room and get some point to point IFR done :)

@NJ Tech well said. I unwind after a long day at work on my deck and I swap between division 2, nba 2k23, fifa 22 and dcs. Your videos have been a life saver and even though I have no clue how to manage all the aspects of flying a damn plane I can atleast enjoy the basic take off's and get in some scenary. All I hope for is someone getting MFS to run on the deck. Would be great but yeah good work man. Not many appreciate the beast that is the deck :)

@@NJ-Tech dude have u been able to get MSFS 40th Anniversary to run on the deck? I got a quack version to work on my pc but tried setting it up with the crack folders etc on my deck but no luck. Thanks again

My d pad changes my camera in the directions. How do I set this up in dcs settings? Can you please help? When I select the flaps up/down and try to add a key/button to it…which button should I choose? I choose the left and right from the drop-down menu but it doesn’t do anything

Any luck with DCS since new updates? I’m just getting black loading screen and any protontricks workarounds I find to finally get into the game will eventually crash when selecting aircraft and loading missions

Good day Sir , love ur videos & ur explanations … very helpful But can I ask u a favor … Can u do a special tutorial video of how to install standalone DCS on steam deck as non steam deck game because I tried to do it & get it like u in the video but I couldn’t I would be grateful … thank you ❤😊

Thanks to your videos, I have managed to get DCS World to run, so thanks for that. However, I can only get FC3 modules to work in game. If I try high fidelity module, it crashes, any ideas as to why this is please?

The only crashes I have found have been due to pushing my undervolt too far. I have also switched to the latest proton GE with no problem. You could try running the protontricks step again and also run the updater for dcs. Let me know how you get on.

@@NJ-Tech I’m actually running the Steam version so made sure it went through update. But I will try the Protontricks thing again.

@paulf1389 hmmm I have no experience with that version as I and most on dcs run the open beta. If you don't have too many modules I'd consider the switch. Back in the day ED used to let you port your licenses, but I don't think so now..

@@NJ-Tech I actually do have the stand alone version. I’ve had the steam version for a while. I just. Wanted to give the steam version a try as I had the steam deck. T hanks for all your input, I’ll figure it out.

Hello, NJ Tech. I've installed the DCS on my Deck with your tutorial. Thanks to you. But after the last update of the SteamOS DCS doesn't work. Have you the same problem?

mines been fine since the update, the only difference i made was setting the launch target to the new bin-mt folder where the mutithreading DCS.exe is. But before doing that is was still working fine. What version of proton are you using and did you use proton tricks to compile the shaders? I would also check that it works in desktop mode, becuase if you need to login again, it would hide that window in normal steam OS.

@@NJ-Tech I've tried with bin-mt and bin. And I tried to launch the game with the updater.exe. I've tried with proton experimental and with proton7 GE 4.3. I use protontricks as you descrive in you video-tutorial.I'tried in desktop mode to login. But always the same problem with shaders. Thanks for your support.

@@CJ.Beltza well i have always used GE 7-20 so maybe try that next? After changing it you might need to re run proton tricks but test first.

@@CJ.Beltza excellent :) with the helis add plenty of curve to the cyclic axis and also the trimmer is your best friend! Add it to a back grip button, that has worked well for me.

Such a nightmare to use this new interface its crap why not just add an option that says "add secondary function" and let us bind a key combo instead of this layering stuff.

I do know what you mean to be fair, it could be more intuitive. I have to stop and think carefully when setting it all up.

and in the air ? :) 45minutes on ground :)) iam kidding awesome videos but without flight... i have steam deck love planes... but only two options :( mfs and dcs.. i download oooold dcs but dont launch and other problems :/ i set launch options dont launch :( windows is no big friend with linux :/ but better than EA games only launch in online :D :D :D i hate EA ! you download and install 60gb game (star wars: jedi order) and i must hotspot when iam camping for play this EA sh.t.... game very good EA is very bad distributor..
