As long as the stepdown isn't connected to PWM that sounds like a good place. If it's PWM, it can be problematic even if not at first. Not a printer for me as someone in the "enthusiast" category, but it's interesting. Seeing something that relies on custom slicer doesn't really bode well for its adoption.
@NJ-Tech
@NJ-Tech 9 күн бұрын
It certainly works with any slicer and they do have a cura profile, it's just the wireless network side that doesn't work, but maybe they'll improve it in a few update. Early doors for firmware so we shall see. But, as a budget job, it does a pretty fine job in a small package. I know what you mean though, it's a conflict of ideas! Solid entry printer if the price is right.
@d3c0deFPV
@d3c0deFPV 9 күн бұрын
Ah ok, might have missed that. I just saw the warning about custom firmware or using their slicer, but yeah any slicer can potentially cause damage if the firmware doesn't limit the physical capabilities.

Perfectly explained! I'm coming from being a qualified helicopter pilot so understood this very easily. My helicopter instructor was always saying that the helicopter is always trying to kill you so we always had very good control throughout the entire flight. Learnt in the R22 which is a very unforgiving helicopter if you don't show it respect. Well done on a great video!!

It's a fantastic start in fpv if you take your time. If you rush straight to manual I think you'll have a bad experience. Along with the simulator and lots of practise in normal and then sport, you will have a much easier time eventually moving to manual mode.

Take your time, there's no rush! If you're cutting around in manual mode on the sim you're going to be fine. Just start off with no more that 10 degrees tilt on the camera to keep things slow and remember the pause button is your friend if you get in trouble 😉

Hey I have a weird problem with my new Avata 2- just got the RC3 today and trying to get in full manual mode (been building and flying fpv since 2016) Seems that turning off the Attitude Limiter is not working. I switched the RC switch to M, switched to manual in Custom mode settings, turned off the Attitude Limiter, adjusted my rates, adjusted gimbal to 15 degree tilt and adjusted the throttle stick on the RC- still limited! Can't flip or roll more than around 25 degrees from level... I reset everything a couple times but to no avail???
@NJ-Tech
@NJ-Tech 28 күн бұрын
thats werid... as far as im aware, there are three warnings, the beginner mode warning, the manual mode warning and the attitue limiter. If you have done all 3 then it should work fine. You might have a weird bug there! Are all units up to date on the FW? RC3/'goggles/avata2? You might need to relash the firmware if its still not working after checking all that. Do keep me posted with how you get on..

@@NJ-Tech So an update. I found that even if the switch is on manual upon startup, the Avata2 defaults to N (Normal Mode) So I switched the switch to normal then back to manual and it actually goes into manual but I can't power up in Manual so I have to switch back to N and take off, then hover and switch to manual in the air... THEN a stick diagram appears which requires me to put the sticks in a certain position to activate full manual mode! What a pain in the A**!!! Is there not a way to arm the drone on the ground, switch to full manual and take off???
@NJ-Tech
@NJ-Tech 28 күн бұрын
@gee4zfpv yes you can take off in manual. Put the throttle (motor start) on the other customisable rocker switch. Then have the throttle at zero, set to M mode and arm.

I just got the A-2 and have been looking at bumpers but have been hesitant to buy the "ribbed" style because they do look "draggy" and heavy but I couldn't find any info about weight or aerodynamics. I decided not to get the ribbed riders for the same reasons. Seems like a huge hit to aerodynamics, and it would throw off my entire hard case setup. I've been crash free for about a month now. A few light bounces off the grass during the occasional stall, or getting used to low voltage sag. Those bull bars are pretty sweet though.

@NJ-Tech
@NJ-Tech Ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, the bull bars are an easy recommendation for me. Anything that adds weight must have great value for the payoff in performance, even when it's only a few grams it all adds up. I personally don't need the feet but if they work for you then great. It's always subjective to your flying, so go with your gut.

I learn from your videos. Thank you :) My 2 suggestions for the next educational material: 1. camera angle - do you stick to one angle (how many degrees) or do you change it depending on the situation? (same witch RATES -keep always as shown on earlier video or changing it depending od situation) 2. video settings details - your videos recorded with Avata look much more pleasing to the eye than most other videos from this drone on KZfaq. How do you set up the recording in the camera, how do you process the video (LUT, effects etc.) and prepare it for sharing on KZfaq so that it looks good? (your image is sharp, smooth, does not "jump" / "skip", unlike what is often seen in other videos on KZfaq - I do not know the technical word for this image problem, visible especially during turns - which does not occur in your case)

Would welcome your inout on what rate range would suit indoor drone tours, have my cinelog 30 dialled in but the avata2 has no throttle expo and even with a 5 camera angle its still lively flying through a house. I need gentle curves when turning which is a roll and yaw combo. i keep experimenting but i’ve not found a sweet spot yet, its just too fast at times.
@NJ-Tech
@NJ-Tech Ай бұрын
Why wouldn't you choose to fly in normal mode for house tours? Slef levelling and throttle response are all much easier to handle indoors in normal mode. Most of the people doing house tours professionally use normal mode for this. If you do want to fly manual then 0 degrees on the camera (remember the vertical FOV of the camera is enough even at 0) and increase your exponential curves to a high level to make inputs easier in tight spaces.
@gimbalair

@@NJ-Tech because compared to the floatiness of a decent whoop it looks boring and does not turn buttery smooth. Also 0 camera angle limits my ability to fly backwards out of set of doors to do a reveal as I fly away and up.
