10 May 1972 was a day of the most intense air battles in the entire Vietnam War. US Navy and USAF launched large raids against North Vietnam under Operation Linebacker. while North Vietnam suffered the highest number of airplanes shot down in a single day. Still, some pilots managed to fight back flying arguably the least important fighter on the Communist side - MiG-19. These fighters were supplied by China in 1969 and saw their first combat only in 1972.
Oyster flight of the 555th TFS saw most air-to-air action on the USAF side with future ace crew Steve Ritchie and Charles DeBellevue opening their account.
Despite DCS World limitations, this video demonstrates again how it is possible to create complex historic reenactments of the jet age.
