I want a new Barry, cause I think he ties up so well into setting up Wally. Wally's story after Barry's death is one of the most heartbreaking things in the flash's stories. How Wally has to learn from the legacy of the great Barry Allen, not only that, but the responsibility of filling Barry's shoes as The flash. I just love the concept of Wally, starting as Kid Flash, than having to take over as the Flash after Barry's great sacrifice.

I feel like Gunn is going to go full on ham with DCU just like Justice League Unlimited and Batman Brave and the Bold. Magic, time travel, galactic warfare, basically a completely fantastical DCU to balance out and differentiate from the Reevesverse and Jokerverse. I also think you're right about what Legacy might mean. Someone said focus on the Legacy part and also said it's not about his kids.

Wouldn’t be shocked if we get Wally as a league founder and having him be the youngest of the league like in the DCAU. But that Barry Allen as the Flash exists almost like a Ted Kord and Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle kind of thing. I’m kind of torn cuz I wanna see Hal Jordan and Barry Allen together on screen. As someone who grew up watching and reading Wally West Flash, I’ve been wanting to see his adaptation soon so I might be bias to say I want Wally to be the main Flash of this universe. Sure, having Barry is cool and all but we’ve been exposed to Barry’s story for quite a while now and it’s time for Wally to have his Flash live action debut as well. But realistically thinking, a Jay Garrick Flash would be awesome to see as well.

My main worry about the JLU inspiration is whatever this version of Wonder Woman will end up being. In that series Diana was a lot more cruel, hostile, and judgemental. Things that are basically the opposite of her actual character lol. I don't mind a recast if need be but I hope Diana keeps her sense of love and compassion for life and for people.

Idk where i saw it, but an arrow movie needs to happen, What i an referring to is a deep dive into green arrow he is a crazy complex character with a lot of depth like a onion haha you can peel to discover the psychology behind this hero anti hero vigilante whatever you wanna call him

I feel like the hero’s are the villains. I really think it’s more along the lines of what boba was saying about a kingdom come type Superman. He’s young and he’s out there seeing these hero’s taking matters into their own hands and he has to create some kind of moral hierarchy which ultimately leads to the authority who completely reject that , and in response team up. I also have a feeling that Guy Gardner will die in the film as lanterns was described as a buddy cop show. This to me somewhat insinuates that only two lanterns ( Hal and John) will be in that. Unless Guy Gardner is chief lantern and Hal and John report to him. I’m fine either way tbh. Love to hear people’s thoughts and if you want to add or tell me what you think differently!

I think paradise lost might be the dcu way of introducing the villain for a potential Wonder Woman movie and a way to introduce the audience to themysciras culture, politics, etc… kinda like what the mcu did with Wakanda. Also considering the bat-family already exists in the dcu the Wonder Woman family might also exist through characters like Nubia, Hippolyta, Artemis, Donna Troy, and maybe Cassie who all have heavy connections to the island.

I got into comic book reading when I was eight years old with the death of Superman. The Flash I began with was Wally West. I am honestly super excited for Superman Legacy. Since I grew up reading comics in the early 90s, I read a ton of comics containing Metamorpho and Guy Gardner. I am excited for the future.

I can live with smaller characters like Peacemaker and Waller carrying over from the old DCEU, but at the very least, I need all of the Justice League to be recast. I know Gadot and Mamoa are popular and are the most likely to continue, but seeing her WW next to a new Superman and Batman would be WAY too weird for me to look past. A new trinity is the minimum they could do, but having a new Aquaman and Flash would make things easier too.

The latest animated movie shows Barry as Flash. I think that is an indication that JG plans on using Barry in live action, because he is aware of content and has said everything going forward would be connected. That movie also had Vixen and the Jessica Cruz Green Lantern!

Wally once was the favorite flash from the animated series. Wally is the jokester and guy that's willing to say things that u dont see coming. And bring everybody out of their shell. Really could be the glue for the team and makes the team members be more comfortable with each other. This way they won't have to worry about people comparing it to the flash show. A new flash and comes with other villains. They could start this flash as a young guy. In highschool about to go to college. As he already operates as flash but not yet the flash we know. With his own manmade suit. A more down to earth film where he slowly figures out the speed force. As he gets stalked by a mysterious evil speedster. Who makes his life a living helll. From class to fighting small time villains. As it leads to his questions of what happen to barry before he became the flash. Have Iris west be like his aunt may. Who helps guides him. Tbh the first flash appearance in live action was ment to set up wally back then in 2007. Before justice league mortal got cancelled. Wally was the main flash before the flash show came out. He was the most popular. I think he could be received better. And make people want to see what happened to this DCU barry allen. As his presence is felt through the speed force as wally eventually finds him and has to save him from black flash maybe in a sequel. That could lead to a barry allen flash in the 80s or 90s. That could be a show or prequel after a wally west flash trilogy and justice league phase. Showing what happened with this barry who worked with the justice society and guy gardner from the past. I would go for nubia having that relationship like in the animated series with Batman. Kinda romantic as Batman brushes it off and stays focused. That could be a nice way to go in the justice league scenes. After developing nubia in the dcu.

When I saw recently they cast Max Greenfield as Barry in a new audio book/podcast I had hopes we might see him continue the character in live action moving forward

I hope this universe doesn't try to drag out its stories longer than they have to be. We don't need trilogies for every single hero. We don't need people to escape death just to be brought back in the next project. One of the most important aspects of a characters journey is the end. I dont want this to be like the MCU.

I think they should make a couple of movies that would come out within like 2 months apart. Each movie would consist of like 3 to 5 mini stories about stand-alone heroes showing the heroes origin, each short being only 10 to 20 minutes. Nothing super detailed because most fans have heard of the heroes already. Then to end that movie would be like a 30 to 60 minute movie involving the 3 to 5 heroes previously shown working together. Then release a 2nd movie in another couple of months following the same format about 3 to 5 different heroes and then a short movie about those heroes working together. Then at the end of the year have a movie including all those preciously shown heroes - that would be you Super Friends or Justice League.

Paradise Lost is my most anticipated DCU TV show based on the suggested source material of Wonder Woman Historia and reference to Game of Thrones.

I still look at the DCU a full reboot. The movies aren't going to be anything like the past films. Same actors coming on shouldn't be called soft reboot but I get where people coming from.

A combination of the justice league animated TV show and JLU (Justice League Unlimited) and some the newer DC 52 Animated movies as a source of inspiration for the story and writing and character creation and study would be great to adapt to this new DCU cause that show and the animated movies had some of the best writing and storylines for these characters on screen James Gunn should looks some of those TV shows and movies

Dude, im all in for the "Paradise Lost" series. A bunch of scantily clad beautiful Amazons fighting and scheming. Plus the entire "fall of man" plot point. Im sure there will be men in the show, and hopefully it points out why the woman isolated themselves and the TRUE power woman have. Im not talking about women getting jacked up and sumo wrestling. Im talking about woman doing what woman do best. Seduction, manipulation, as well as observing, and learning. Being caretakers of all that is precious. It COULD SMACK... if done right.

I think it would be cool if depending on when the second superman movies comes out it would be cool if in the beginnings we see flash and superman race for charity it would be very fitting for both characters and it would also give the dcu a way to introduce there flash which i pray is wally west like in justice league unlimited

I think there’s still a good chance Clark’s been Superman longer than the other heroes announced (except maybe Guy). Hawkgirl’s actress is much younger and Kendra is too. Michael Holt could still be a scientist billionaire helping Superman (like Emil Hamilton and Leo Quintum). Meanwhile Corenswet’s Clark will be 30 years old as confirmed by James Gunn. While Reeve and Cavill started at 30 and 33, that’s because Reeve trained at the Fortress for years while Cavill stayed an anonymous hero for years. In modern comics origins such as Birthright (Mark Waid and Francis Lenil Yu), Secret Origin (Geoff Johns and Gary Frank) and Men of Steel (Grant Morrison and Rags Morales), Clark either became Superman soon after college or was already Superboy as a teenager. This Clark could be 5-7 years into his career as Superman and as a reporter (assuming he starts at 23-25). But of course the JSA could have existed decades before in the 40s and like Doomsday Clock, their influence on young Clark could be an emphasis. His beliefs in Truth and Justice could have came from them. Also, the JSA had the original GL (Alan Scott), Hawkgirl/woman (Sheira Saunders) and Mister Terrific (Terry Sloane). Except for Metamorpho, all the announced characters are LEGACY characters. Interesting to note. Clark being a JSA and possibly comics fanboy could also be similar to Barry being a Jay Garrick and comics nerd. The Justice League, the return of “old school” ideals and super-heroics, could be Superman’s Legacy.

Wally West is my Flash but I think Barry should be the Flash in the DCU. It allows more story telling within the world and time to give each character. Wally can be Kid Flash or something in the middle of that and Flash as I can see him being too old for the Kid title. I love Gal but totally agree with you, might as well recast her for WW because it wouldn’t make sense to keep her now

Another thing they could do is make all of the old dcu characters be from a different earth. I say this bc I want to see more of the jsa and this could make room for a possible crossover between the jsa from that earth and the justice league for the new dcu.

I think DC Studios could have explored the inner stories instead of creating a new timeline. For example, you discussed Wonder Woman / Gal Gadot. It would have been interesting for DC Studios to have explored the story of Hippolyta taking on the role of Wonder Woman in the JSA. If Hippolyta refuses to give up the mantle and fights it out with Diana, who also gives up her Olympian role of Goddess of Truth. 🧡💜💙

If there's an existing team during Superman: Legacy, I'm thinking more JSA considering both Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific have been members and are both legacy characters.

For Wonder Woman, I like the idea of Gal Gadot being recast as Hippolyta, she is getting older and is a mother now. Have a new actress for Wonder Woman i suggest Melissanthi Mahut. For Superman have Henry Cavill recasted as Jor-El. Similar reasons. He's gray haired and getting older. It'd be a way to pass the baton between the previous actors and their successors.

Why is it that one franchise has been able to build an entire universe across characters, plots, themes, and continuities? Why is it that one franchise has been able through its casting to keep the same actors who brought their own contributions to the heroes and villains that many of us grew up knowing and more than met the mark adding to those characters they portrayed? In the case of one actor in this franchise, he was so beloved that his death caused a parallel revision to the cinematic version of the character he had portrayed on screen. Of course, I am referring to the Marvel Universe, to the pantheon of actors who are like family, and to Chadwick Boseman's portrayal of the Black Panther. Why has Marvel been able to do what DC simply cannot on screen? The source material may be the first advantage. Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, et al. gave their readers personalities to admire from their inceptions in the 60s. If one removed the speech balloons in Marvel comics from the characters in the Avengers, Fantastic Four, the X-Men or Spiderman, the reader would still know who had said what. Marvel built its stories on characters, who were each on a personal journey, be it Peter Parker or Tony Stark. By contrast in any of the first 100 Justice League issues, you could swap the dialogue across any of the heroes and it would not matter. They were wooden characters merely thrown in to advance some battle against a giant starfish or some robot who would copy their powers. The movie franchises simply had a clearer baseline of story telling through characters in Marvel. DC did not really start investing in character-based stories until the 70s most notably with the introduction of Ra's Al Ghul. It is no wonder that, yet again, the cinematic DCU reboots so regularly just like the comics repeatedly do. There is simply no parallel between the two franchises. The greatest promise DCU ever showed was with Wonder Woman and they couldn't even build off of that. The DCU could take a page from their animated franchise whose voice actors have held on to their roles longer than any live actor. Often the animated plot lines and screenplays elevated the comics themselves where a character like Harley Quinn, created on the cartoon, became comic canon. Well, one more round of leftovers for their DCU live action movies. One thing for sure: no more prodding whether the DCU ever "catches up" to the MCU. Not only has that train left the station: that rocket has left the universe.

Paradise Lost better tie into Greek mythology, have young Diana by season 2 and show the dynamic of Themyscra. Maybe it could lead to Darkseid-esque territory but I doubt they'll go there.

If the authority is already existing and antagonistic for Clark they could be the inspiration and reason for the justice league. It could a matter of the brutes have a team, and the nicer heroes are more scattered and feel they need to organize and serve as a counterbalance/leash

I love Wally West he's my favorite Flash I grew up watching that version on Justice League and Unlimited, Young Justice, and reading his books but it would be a shame to not have Barry and Reverse Flash and everything it would be nice to keep Barry but with a new Actor because I despise Ezra Miller and hope their career is over I love Gal Gadot but it would be odd if she was the same but no one else of the old DC Heroes it would be sad but would make sense. I agree Paradise Lost sounds interesting but it's my least anticipated if they did involve Dooms Doorway/Gates to Tartarus it would be really interesting GoT had White Walkers so Hades and Creatures could be like a looming threat in the background while the Drama and Politics are going on with things slipping through and they have to set aside their own problems to defend the doorway and use that to set up Hades or something else escaping in a future movie.

I'd like to see a space saga, Gunn was supposed to handle that for the MCU. Justice League forms in space (rescuing Martian Manhunter??) perhaps and they then return to earth

The Wonder Woman franchise severely needs a reboot where the gods and Diana’s supporting cast are alive. Paradise Lost could elevate the IP if it is based on Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons and Phil Jimenez’s run with the conflict between the Bana- Mighdall Amazons vs Themyscirans. Maybe we’ll get the true clay origin of Diana’s birth blessed by the goddesses!

New Frontier would be a wonderful JL story to adapt. It looks like a bit of a JLI is going on character wise.

I rather an Eobard Thawne/Reserve-Flash film set in the future to see how he idolized The Flash and founded his own Negative Speed Force with it ending by him going back in time to kill Nora.

If Terrance Howard’s War Machine can be replaced by Don Cheadle, Harrison Ford can replace William Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross, if Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool can go to the MCU, I’m not sure why Gal Gadot staying as Wonder Woman, or even Robert Pattinson as Batman in the DCU, (as I’d prefer) is some huge controversy. The fans were screaming for Evan Peters to become the MCU Quicksilver. I just don’t get all these freak outs about minimal continuity between reboots. Have any of these people actually ever read a comic book? If the movies are good, stay true to the core characters & develop new or lesser known ones no one is going to care.

IDK if we ever get a live action OG Wally. I would love it, but I feel DC has tried very hard to basically get rid of him and the only reason he is still around is fan’s fighting for him so I have a feeling we will see Barry Allen as The Flash, and maybe Wally II (Ace?) as Kid Flash if we get a recast on Barry. If they keep the current actor absolutely no KF anywhere near them.

It's too many characters to have in the first movie. It's BvS all over again. I love Gunn's work but maybe he just doesn't like working on films that aren't an ensemble project. Right now, DC has a chance to build up the DCU the way Marvel built up the MCU and a lot of Marvel fans miss that from the current MCU films so this would be a chance for DC to steal some of those fans over.

I think they should do this, bring in wally West and explain that Ezra millers flash is stuck in the chronobol, during a fight between Flash and The Rouges Wally was in the midst of it and got powers when a streak of lighting hit wally. Then maybe 10 years in the future people will forgive Ezra miller and he’ll come back. It’s a good way to bring back muschetti and bring back the chronobol etc without miller or they could just be Ezra Miller version of the flash just recasted I also firmly firmly believe Jason Mamoea is staying as Aquaman

Lucas Till for The Flash of the official DCU. And it wouldn't matter to me whether he was Barry Allen or Wally West. My favorite Flash is Wally West but Barry is a DC Icon. I'd gladly give Barry another go but I definitely want that with a different actor.
