Small advice that will help you get rid of the leaking CV joint. First and foremost this leak is due to the stress which is caused by the alteration to the suspension geometry. Now, to compensate for the changes in suspension you need to make certain changes to the CV axle. Irrespective of brand; grobally the stock CV axle come with 23 degree of angle and now as in your case you have made changes to the wheel & suspension you need to swap the axle to the one with 47 degree of angle. Make sure to keep the splined end of the axle connecting the transaxle and the stub end of the axle the same as factory spec. The drive axle needs to be extended as well. This can be done at a well versed machine shop. A custom CV axle build will be needed with existing reluctor ring. Avoid chopping & welding the axle shaft to extend the length as it will upset the suspension, steering and other related components.

Hi i m auto telco trained in my teens . CV joint should be at 90 degrees opposite to each other technically, if it is not so it always run in particular engage condition. There will some abnormal feel on steering ,it will eventual affect power steering pump and STG rack seals. By placing spacers the chassis &body will lift , hence you will geat clearance in between wheel arch . So you are increasing the initial tension of the spring, by adding spacer the spring will be compressed and lift chassis & body. The ride will be harsh . Instead use spring with thick wire thickness so ride will be soft and free travel will be there. You will have to take positive camber means whe wheel should be out from top, so the axle CV joint will alter. Remove upper arm axle and get it cut so the wheel will be out in posative camber. In lift kit a on upper arm there is provision of adjustable ball joint is provided to tyre move in and out negative n posative camber. Get your Alignment done from the one who does work of lift suspension. Replace with original CV joint silicon boots, do not use after market boots. You at present need to slide boot towards the wheel side loosing the axle side clip. It should be in beleowed . Your suspension lower arm will be at same place undercarriage clearance will increase.The travel will increase but will be hard and stiff. The Sturt & shocks travel be changed will also be under stress on rough roads. Possibilities of eventual faliure of CV joint Axle shaft. Contact companies service engineer.. Rightly said DC bhai. One should and must test the mod done in one's vehicle before going outside in real world situations so that you don't get stranded. I've seen people who just do the mods and never even test it and then they are stranded in remote locations asking for help. You are spreading some really good tips which will educate the budding enthusiasts of what should they do and don't. Well done though keep up such good work.

2” life is best for IFS, while for solid axles you can go as high as you want. The only thing you need to check out is the propeller shaft and the steering can handle the lift or use a different setup.

you would need a custom control arm and maybe a bigger leaf spring. If that boot is leaking that seal is gone. If you cant get the control arm required it would be better to go back to stock.

It can be modified in a different way If two wheels are fixed with the rear wheel assembly to make it a tracked wheel assembly by putting a track around the wheels, it won't stuck in almost any obstacles.

Every good mechanic I have spoken to has highly advised against lifting the vehicle using spacers or lift kits. Suspension of a vehicle has lot of multiple pieces (from steering downwards) with diff tolerances and angles which can be out of alignment with even a minor change in one component. As the drive shafts and control arms go out of normal angles, they experience lot more wear/tear of bearing and other parts. What you are seeing currently in your vehicle is just cut in CV boot from outside. On the inside the bearings and stuff potentially are also getting damaged. If you have to, then the most effective way (I am told by experienced off roaders) is to do a complete suspension upgrade (Shocks+control arms+springs+bumpstops). Even then, it is advised never to go beyond 2-3 inch lift. And if you fit in bigger tires, you might also need to regear the vehicle, else the transmission will be out in some time as well, not to mention the overload on engine. It is a path which should be travelled very carefully and never via a spacer lift. And I am talking about road conditions in USA. In India, the amount of caution should be me twice, given poor road conditions. I would highly advise removing this spacer and gong back to stock (with slightly bigger tires) or go for a complete suspension upgrade. In any case, dont go for diff drop and boot redesign. That might just increase your issues.

Whomever you want to fix your alignment , that workshop must have force gurkha data installed in their system otherwise they will not give you perfect alignment for the vehicle. You can talk to your dealer they will provide you the workshop address where they have data installed. I have get done alignment fixing in pune recently.

Force was on the right track earlier by offering an Extreme version and a more roadworthy and comfortable Explorer. They could have continued the same with the new Force. A made to order Extreme and a regular production, IFS version. That would have given people a choice. Probably the Force marketing team got swayed the success of the Thar and wanted to “challenge” it with the current version. Just a rear diff lock would have been fine. What’s the point having diff locks on both ends when the below average ground clearance makes one nervous, off-road. The upcoming Jimny may also crash the party. Affordable, reliable and who knows may fare equally well off road, right from the factory.

Allignment ka issue hai brother. Iski allignment har koi ni kar skta , me khud 60 kms one side jata hun allignment krwane.

Hi Deepak, pls keep in mind that a disposal Gypsy is a vehicle that has been written off due to end of service life. So please be ready to spend more on issues that will only be evident when you use the vehicle for a while. Having a good, trusted and knowledgeable mechanic to inspect the vehicle beforehand can reduce headaches later particularly if you wish to retain the vehicle for long. Cheers !

I had an issue with the suspension stoppers in my BS6 Gurkha, that had led to the inner boots being cut. The company had recommended a new design that involved welding metal plates to the stopper to make it stronger. This can lead to an eventual major issue, including shearing of bolts of the ball joint and the vehicle becoming completely immobile. This has happened with me.

There are bigger boots available that we can custom cut. I will go for that with the lift. Just trying to see how this Gurkha performs, before going in for the upgrade.

Hope you will tell every pros and cons of installing cushion buffer time to time. Its very cheeper than other mods i also wanted the real review as i also want yo lift my car 2 inches thanks for such a knowledgeable video and hard work.

These are not cushion buffers. Cushion buffers are wrapped on the coil springs, are made out of polyurethane and can’t lift a vehicle. Those can only help you to let the vehicle not sag much under load. These are spacers made out of aluminium for suspension which are installed above or below the springs which makes that part bigger and lifts the vehicle.

Why you guys don’t use the vehicle as delivered by the manufacturer? You guys think the manufacturer is a fool 😮and guys can get better than him. Very hopeless situation. If you want severe off roading then buy/import vehicles made by manufacturer for it. There are many people like this gentleman who buy the vehicle and tryto be more expert than the OEM.

After watching all videos I assume that this vehicle is worth of buying at all. So many problems or shortcomings of this vehicle. Better to buy a thar for comfortable customer satisfaction

I don't understand why these dumb guys try to act smart in the name of modification and youtube likes?. 95% idiots don't even understand that even a small tyre upgrade will create issue in the RPM of wheels in km/hr. Leave about other mods . Idiots should do cosmetic mods, not mechanical and electrical mods without any through research and evidence of success...!!. I know well because I know a mm difference also impact your vehicle handling. Even tyre upgrade should be within 1-2 percent difference with adjustment in speedometer.

Such a pain. When you already have the hassle free capable thar i don't see the point of retaining gurkha, other than headache and money drain no other gain.

Dinesh bhai apko Gurkha ke sath dekh ke afsos hota he ,apko kisi bhi problem mai dekhna hame acha nahi lagta,
