ALTER command is used to change the TABLE schema, like add/remove a column, thus its DDL. UPDATE command is used to change the value of row/column in a table, thus its DML.

in a transaction either all the SQL statement be committed or all rolled back sir please described that statement .

For ex: below we are binding 3 inserts in a single transaction by providing BEGIN-COMMIT block: BEGIN TRAN insert row 1 insert row 2 insert row 3 COMMIT TRAN ... here if 2nd insert fails, the 1st insert will also rollback and 3rd insert won't happen. But if you don't apply BEGIN-COMMIT block, all 3 inserts will behave as 3 independent transactions. Hope this helps :)

It's mainly for SQL Server, but all these concepts and most basic queries works for all databases.

SQL commands are no case sensitive, its your data that is, which is defined by using collation settings while creating table/columns.

GRANK & REVOKE fall under DCL, not TCL, check here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_control_language

As your SELECT statement within IN() clause is returning 1 lack rows, you should try converting it to EXISTS() clause of JOIN, should work better.

DQL (Data Query Lang) or DRL (Data Retrival Lang) is a subset of DML, and there is no official reference of these subtypes. Officially SELECT stmt is a DML, check here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/queries/queries
