Very true, but I remember my parents telling me how good I had it in the 70's and 80's. They would talk about not having color TV, video games, VCR's and boom boxes when they were growing up. I miss the 80's, it seemed like a much safer time back then.

And the more they keep dying the more you realize that the 80's are never coming back...which is a terrible feeling. And who are the stars of today?...I don't see very many. Today's "stars" have minimal talent and minimal charisma...they can't act and most can't sing, they're not true stars.

With the state of the world at present I am very happy to be at the tail end of the Baby Boomer generation. The 70s and 80s were a time I am glad to have lived through. 15 years ago today (Sept 11 2016) the world changed forever and as a former soldier (I'm retired now) it changed the direction my life was taking. Now it's time for me to kick back, relax and watch old 80s movies and play my vinyl records.

Keep the inspiration alive into the 22nd century please. The generation of the future needs to know about those that paved the way for the music they experience then. Yes I am crying.

+ㅁㅈㅇㅃ if you look in a thesaurus, i doubt you will find tragic as a synonym for sudden. tragic indicates something that happens which causes great destruction, or distress. you could take the view that his accident was tragic and his death was mercifull, since it ended his suffering, however you can also take the view that since his death was a direct result of the accident it was indeed tragic. there are always many ways to look at and interpret something without necesarily being wrong.

PC?? The problem is that the PC demand goes ONE way---Blacks can say whatever they want, BUT, if you're white, you had better watch what you say: Boston U professor Saida Grundy is openly anti-white, openly boycotts against whites, yet Boston U refuses to punish her in any way. How about Donald Sterling being ILLEGALLY recorded (a felony in CA) by some black bitch, yet she was never charged. Sterling's own private view points were used to punish him, EVEN though he never consented to have his views publicly aired. List goes on & on.

Trump will make everything ok again. Last week i walked across a crosswalk when it had the "dont walk" displayed. Not a car around, and the 20 or 30 people waiting in the 94 degree afternoon sun looked at me like i just murdered the pope. I said "i will not let a light bulb tell me when i can cross the street". People today are like drones who want to be told what to do.

So you saying I should just take it up the ass! You crazy as hell if I don't say anything! Plus no one is stopping you or any one else for saying anything when you want to when you feel like it! That's your rights and really your responsibility to do so if you feel some type of way about something! I thought We had a lucky childhood. We had a Rubiks cube to play with, techno bowl, stretch Armstrong, Atari on a 18 inch b/w TV. The Smurfs and Justice league on Saturday mornings. Gilligans Island after school. MTV and breakdancing. My kids have PlayStation 4, Xbox and Wii U on a 70 inch TV, the Internet with any question at their fingertips, travel baseball team, any movie, TV and carton show they can ever want to watch, IMAX 3-D. Video chat's cell phones. Hell, I would love to be growing up right now. Reminisce all you want and Think it was better growing up back then. NOPE!!!

Mike Steele Sadly all kids today seem to care about are their cell phones. While I was born in the mid 80's i'd gladly go back to that time, so much cool stuff. Even with all the advancements in technology today i think the 80's were a much better time.

I agree that Farrah was more of a 70s star than an 80s star, and thus doesn't belong here. This vid was only a little over 4 minutes long, they obviously didn't intend for it to be 10+ minutes long. If they included everyone that had one-two years in the 80s but were predominantly stars in another decade (70s or 90s)--plus EVERYONE that was an 80's star--the vid would have to be 3-4 times as long as it is.

Farah Fawcett died the same week as Michael Jackson. She was a big star of the 70's, but I think she was in some movies in the 80's too. My younger brother had a big crush on her.

starbase121 Farrah Fawcett was sick years leading to her death. Aside from being far more significant to pop culture, Michael Jackson's death came pretty much out of nowhere.
