Yo I have a question, what happens when I do the fight with isabella around 32:00 and im not able to pass the level EVEN if I manage to defeat her? Like she's in a glitch right now and no matter HOW I kill her, she keeps getting away and expiring the rest of the cases💀🙄

Dude Kindel saved my life. When I was saving Isabela from the zombie, I made the mistake of throwing my only weapon (the small chainsaw) to knock him off, not realizing it wouldn't be there when the cutscene ensing. With no weapons, I thought I was screwed. But guess who came running to my rescue? Kindel, with his wonderful shotgun, was able to escort me and Isabela to the security room safely. He is one great guy, even though he tries to mutiny later.

I decided to try this guide despite remembering how frustrating DR1 was (and still is) but this helped alot. The timing is ridiculous sometimes, you're really at the mercy of the random level ups early on, and I had to go back an hour because a dumbass survivor decide to get stunlocked by zombies and died in seconds, but bringing 9 of those braindead children from Wonderland to the safehouse was one of the most satisfying things I've done in a while. Thanks for the guide man.

@@DGneoseeker1 That's exacly why it was so satisfying, the biggest thing to remember is survivors follow your path exactly so it's a good idea to cling to walls when escorting a group back and tell them to wait in safe places while you clear the path or get health items, also save because they will just attempt suicide when you least expect it.

@@Rhino-n-Chips Unfortunately what I discovered is survivors are too stupid to enter a sliding door. And they get stuck on vases etc inside the antique shop. They managed to get themselves into the middle of giant zombie crowds WHILE I was saving. There is no hope for these people.

I always took it as that Frank injured his leg somewhat when he jumped out of the helicopter in the beginning, leading him to limp around for the next 72+ hours.

So glad people are still making content for this fantastic game. Dead Rising is the only games I’ve ever gone out of my way to 100% (twice with the HD remaster on Xbox One). Even though I’ve already beaten the game, I watched this whole video just to feel some sweet nostalgia of when I did this myself. Really amazing video, thank you so much for this.

In some ways it's better to watch than to play. While Dead Rising CAN be fun, most of the time it's an exercise in frustration since the survivor AI is pants-on-head retarded. Thank god they fixed it in the sequels.

When doing the "Last Resort" case, there is a way to save a LOT of time. Early game (during one of the larger downtimes between cases) go to the Maintenance Tunnel using the conventional way (the parking lot) and go get the keys to the Maintenance Tunnel early. That way when the "Last Resort" mission starts you can go straigth in the tunnel through Paradise Plaza, leading to a car to get moving just after getting in the tunnel without having to go through the park.

Man, this brought back some memories. None of which were any good. I really love Dead Rising but my first couple of playthroughs, with no understanding of what to expect, were painful. Good job on creating this. This is one hell of a comprehensive guide. It's really long, obviously, but there isn't anything you can leave out. It moves fast but it's easy to follow too. I think you have a good talent for making guides as well as reviews, so if they're not too difficult then I would encourage you to make some more.

There’s also a Sub Machine Gun on top of the Cam Shop you always refill your batteries at. You can use this easier than the pistol. =3

Fun Fact: The survivor Bill Brenton takes one of the highest if not the highest amount of zone ins throughout the mall. he needs Entrance to Alfresca, Alfresca to Food court, food court to Leisure, Leisure to Paradise, Paradise to Warehouse, Warehouse to Rooftop and finally Rooftop to Security Room.

20:21 I've found an easier way to beat Steven is to immediately hop over either side of the aisle as he first charges and loop behind him, in my experience it gives you enough time to kill him with a mini chainsaw, because he pulls out his shotgun when you are up on the aisle and he won't be able to turn fast enough to counter you.

It's not overly important. Once you get small chainsaws you basically have free reign on Zombies and the maintenance tunnels aren't really much of a shortcut anyways. You have to go through the main areas for the listed and unlisted scoops, and the maintenance tunnels don't have any scoops associated with them.

4:20 You could easily deal with Carlito without tanking hits. At the warehouse where the elevator takes you from the start, break open several boxes until you find a taser gun. Take that taser gun to the fight and use the quickstep to rush at him once you see him trying to reload his p90. It'll totally drain his health rapidly while stun locking him in place.

This is the best gaming guide I've ever had the pleasure of watching, as silly as that sounds. Whenever I play dead rising I refer back to this video RELIGIOUSLY. It's actually insane how clear and concise this is considering it's only an hour long and covers at the very least 10 hours of gameplay. 10/10, highly recommend(ed playing).

Adam the Clown was so scary for me not because he was a clown, but because it goes from bright to dark in a split second, and you can't see anything from a distance for quite some time, and when I'm trying to fight a boss that you need to keep your distance for, it was an incredibly terrifying battle.

It's been over 10 years since I last played Dead Rising. My brother was way more into it and got more done and played the sequels. It was interesting seeing so many unmarked chances to rescue survivors that I missed on my playthroughs back then.

Man, this is great content. I've never played DR but it's interesting to watch people who sunk hundreds of hours in it explain to others how to get those high achievements. The saving survivors part reminds me of a diablo-like game called Sacred Underworld (Sacred 2's predecessor). There were main quest unkillable NPCs and secondary quest killable NPCs you had to watch out for. One interesting quest was called "Adelina". You can rescue a noble's marksman daughter and escort her to her father. A perfect run involves rushing to her aid without talking to the quest giver - that way you can save her horse too. Some time later after completing the quest you can talk to Adelina and she'll ask to join. This is a terrible idea since she is weak and since it's hard to heal followers even when you have potions and spells to do so. But I remember playing a war mage and trying to take it as far as I could. I just really enjoyed watching her grow in power, use better weapons I gave her... I believe she must have died at some point but my head canon is that she came back safely to her dad. Wish there was a remake where she could be made more powerful. EDIT apparently she was a possible temp companion only in early versions, before the Underworld Addon was released. And back then she actually respawned at her father's home if she got killed. And then you could recruit her again. yay! So fifteen years after, my Mage can canonically have an epilogue where he marries her and they have a family.

Followed your guide almost exactly like you did it although AI was clunky I had to exclude some detours and started at level 7 or 8.. I have never saved so Many survivor's before and this helped me get the achievement, thank you, looking forward to your live streams

Playing this game sooo much when it first arrived I was. A master at rescuing everyone with plenty of time . Lets just say 10 years later I forgot everything and this guide saved me lots of tears haha

So pro tip for pc players, damage from psychopaths is basses around frame rate. Your damage won't change but you can get killed in one hit if you have a really high frame rate. I.e. Adam will always kill you if you take a hit at 144fps. In short, during bosses, cap your frame rate to 60 so you don't have to beat a boss with out having to beat bosses taking no damage. Idk all the details but it seems to be a problem with enemys that can take more than one block of health with a single hit. Also, if you knee drop, you won't take fall damage.

That's hilarious that the frame rate effects damage. Who knew? Probably has something to do with the refresh rate and the hitboxes hitting you multiple times.

Ive just killed one of those 4 snipers on ps3 probably like this. He was just starring at the landscape on the rooftop, I took one of those sniper rifles and easily killed him. The frames on ps3 always go down, or its just a glitch

Tip for cliff: You can just grab a nail gun from one of the shelves and when he is running to the hole to escape shoot him with it and then switch to your main weapon, he will start running at you giving you a chance to hit him but after you do he will attempt to run to the hole to escape just shoot him again and repeat

If you have a pistol you can shoot the balloons while he is blowing them up! Wait until he is just finished to shoot them for extra damage. You can repeatedly force Adam to blow up the balloons by keeping a great distance.

Actually, one of the safest ways to take down Adam is to carry an SMG on hand. *1.* when you shoot, he will ALWAYS block and stop his attack, unless you do the balloon method. He will bring up his chainsaws. Essentially, you want him to do something like say, the spin attack. Once he is within arm's length, shoot one round to cause the block, switch to the katana, then chop him to shit. *2.* When he's blowing the balloons, do the same from a safe distance - stun him with the gas, then back to melee and chop him.

the bomb fetching part is a lot easier when you remember you can zombie surf over crowds and you are ungrabbable for a few frames after falling off the zombie surf so you can spam it and never be hit

Nice guide, but how come early on in the game when you were in the fight with Carlito in the Food Court, you didn't shoot the plate trophies in Chris' Fine Foods? They give a pretty decent PP bonus for the early game. You also didn't use the treadmills in Al Fresca Plaza. Those also give a decent PP bonus when you run on all of them as do destroying the sandbags in the same gym store.

Granted, those are an easy way to get PP. But since hes on a very tight schedule, stopping to shoot the plates and run on the treadmills would be too far out of the way to get done efficiently

Wouldn't it be better to grab one of the submachine guns before adam's boss fight? So you can stun him with his balloon move and get in with the katana or dummy.

You could grab one if you can spare the inventory. It could be helpful, but it's easy to run out of weapons since your inventory is so low, and having a quickstep or two is probably more valuable.

Just finished the run: first I rescued Sophie from the convicts without killing them. After that I killed all 3 convicts and took the turret gun from their car. I got to Adam the clown and ussed the turret for the fight. I Might have gotten lucky, as Adam started blowing his balloon twice in a row, making him vulnerable. With the turret, the fight took literly 20 seconds. He died on the same spot as he spawned. The turret gun cuts through psychopaths like butter!
