Thank goodness for magnet fishers for cleaning waterways. I'm not sure many valuables are found, but the joy of finding things and discovering is thrilling. The value of cleaning the waterways is immeasurable. Thank you.

Thing i like most about watching any magnet fishers is all the junk they pull out of the waterways that was put there by mindless idiots.. good work guys 👌

Interesting. Never found a fragmentation grenade, but I did once find an artillery shell - only a little one about a foot long and around three inches in diameter. I also carried it a good mile or so home. My mother wasn't impressed. I took it to the nearest phone box and called in the cavalry - well, the police. They turned up in a Mini, three of them. And one was the biggest bloke I'd ever seen. There was an inspector, a sergeant, and a constable driving. I can only imagine that car was like the T.A.R.D.I.S. - bigger on the inside. They put the shell in the boot, all piled back in, and left me with, "if it goes off on the way we'll come back and haunt you." Wasn't magnet fishing, though. That was back at the end of the 1970s with my first metal detector. The bomb squad from Catterick came out and blew it up. I'd have had my picture on the cover of the Manchester Evening News, except the duty photographer was out following Maggie Thatcher around. So much for my 15 minutes of fame. .

Among all the channels I see that do Magnet Fishing, and especially among the ones that find explosives, I've noticed an upsetting amount that seem to enjoy embellishing what actually happens. And they even seem to treat what their doing more as treasure hunting than helping clean the environment. It's nice to see a channel take such responsibility and not actually embellish what's happened. You found a live hand grenade, more specifically, unless my eyes failed me, a fragmentation one. That is very deadly. Good work boys.

Great job ! You say your there to help the environment and to find stuff and you do your part on both ends ,so the guys in other parts of the world could learn from you and a son who seems to enjoy his time with his dad !

This has to be the only type of fishing where you're guaranteed to catch something. Unfortunately though very interesting & a great community service. What you find isn't really worth any actual money. I do have to ask. What do you do with all that junk? Do you sell the metal as salvage?

13:35 the pattern on that tool\knife piece you found looks like the pattern found on wood rasps or an aggressive wood file. I have seen people use old wood and metal files to make their own knives, since they are usually good steel. Sometimes the file pattern is left partly or fully intact along the top part of the blade.

Magnetic Dad frozen to his core 😆 stood in the non magnetic wind and rain waiting for the bomb squad, magnetic g , sleeves rolled up 😂😂😂. Brilliant !

Great finds chaps, I enjoy your videos and like the fact it's a father son combo, the police took that grenade very serious didn't they! No taking any chances!! I have found two large Artillery shells with my metal detector that required controlled explosions, stay safe and keep up the good content, I subscribed so I can follow your adventures 💪🏻

On the one hand, it's cool that you live in a place where you can find cool pieces of history like this. On the other hand, I'm sorry that you live in a place where a modern war was fought nearly 100 years ago now. And the remnants of that war are so easily hidden away in such public places like this where anyone could find them, and possibly get hurt, or worse. Good on you for doing something like this, and ridding the world of rubbish, and machines designed solely to kill. I applaud you and (I assume) your son.

So bit of history for the viewers, to the left of the modern blue gray building is a red brick building called the titanic works the place the first tanks of ww1 was produced.

Nice to see someone / father and son being able to do something unhindered. Usually, if you are doing something like that or putting a small boat, kyak in the water, you can bet your bottom dollar it won’t be long before someone comes along and and says “oh, you can’t do that”. Same as when we were kids, we would camp in the corner of a farmers field. If you did it now, you would be told, “you can’t do that”.

Thank you for using that grappling hook to haul over the bar, everyone else just using the magnets and losing bits over the edge is so frustrating.

What is it with bicycles in the river. Theives still bikes ride it home and then throw it in the river? I do not get it.

My mate was in the marines in the early 90's, and he said it was amazing how many people would sneak hand grenades or especially flash bang grenades, out of their base, and go using them out in the woods or whatever.

Great to see you two back again. A little cold weather and strong winds would be nuffin to you two lads. Good finds too that shopping basket would make a hanging basket for petunas hanging from one of your stands found in earlier videos. Very responsible magnet fishing traler, broom and stacking. Amazed at your finds. Those rivers are just dumping grounds for some people. I think that grenade was harmless the pin and lever were gone so it had been activated. Anyway George knows the proceedure "give it a whack"
