Deadly Teaser Rig with Lures for Bass - Why & How. Seabass Fishing Ireland

Among Seabass fishing tips 🎣🎣 one of the best one is to use this super effective bass fishing method, very similar to surf fishing teaser for striped bass. I have been using it for a couple of years now and it often got me a fish when nothing else worked. Sea Bass fishing can be tricky at times, so good to have trick or two, to get you a fish, when nothing else works. This bass fishing sandeel fly is absolutely deadly in conjunction with pretty much any saltwater lures for bass. It was brilliantly to for Seatrout, although bear in mind, due to the length of the fly Sea Trout will often hit it without a hook up.
Here you will find out why to use the teaser fly rig while fishing for bass, sea trout and how to tie it. Enjoy, hope it does wonders for you.

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzfaq.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Hi Marcin really great videos keep it up so pleasing to still see someone using Red Gills, these lures were developed by my late father the concept for the tail came from him watching jet fighters landing and deploying a parachute, The family unfortunately sold the company several years ago but it looks like the new owners have moved forward with lure designs. I feel like I would like to get back into lure development myself in the near future as this seems to be an ever expanding market you really seem blessed with an amazing fishery over there 👍🏼

@@MarcinKantor I pretty much kept it the same size as you showed in the video unless I knew I was in an area with big bass. I did switch to a 5inch sand eel fly once above an 8inch Lunker City Slug-Go and landed a decent fish of 32inches on the teaser! You should definitely cross the pond sometime and give it a try! The bites just started to pick up here, but It'll be in full swing in another two weeks!

Another good video Marcin,good point regarding shallow or weedy ground,another downside is that sometimes when a Bass takes the teaser the main lure can get dragged about and hook up in the weed or rocks and you end up losing both lures and the fish.But yes,teasers are very successful,they also work very well when fly fishing for Salmon or Sea Trout.
@MarcinKantor
@MarcinKantor 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pete, yes 100%. While it hasn't happened to me I forgot to explain to fight fish hard and away from snags. Well pointed 👍 I haven't seen it used for salmon, can you explain? Just a dropper fly above the point one?

@petegordon8019 3 жыл бұрын
@@MarcinKantor Yes Marcin,just tie a small shrimp like fly New Zealand style about 3 ft up from your point fly,obviously it must be smaller and lighter than your point fly.Alternatively a foam type fly such as a Fat Albert or Chubby Chernobyl can be used and will cause a disturbance on the surface and can draw the Salmon up to take the point fly.

Hey Marcin, fantastic tip thank you. Just wondering is there any advantage in leaving the tag end of your knot longer and passing it through the eye of the fly-hook and up to a breakaway clip or swivel? Hi Marcin, really enjoyed the vid. One question, having made the rig approx 90cm are you then clipping it on and off from a leader on the mainline? You suggest that you can change from a lure to the rig easily but surely that would mean 180cm of fluro with clips etc which could cause problems with the rod tip?
@MarcinKantor

Brilliant video Marcin, a couple of questions, have you had many fish fowl hooked from the lure while catching on the teaser, I have made mine a minimum of 2 half feet to avoid this. But I am still concerned about this so will only be using either weedless slug type baits or single hooks on the surface lures or shallow runners jig type shallow spinners like the Westin Salty will be ideal, thanks for your thoughts.

20-30% on the fly, but I believe the lure itself is more effective too with the fly added. Those flies exactly that were in the video

Hi Marcin, great videos and just realised we have a mutual fishing companion in Charles Nelson…. Do you have a link to the fly you are using as the teaser. I can only seem to find short shank hooks or hook shanks that are coated in Mylar etc. I’m even considering attempting tying my own but I’d rather they didn’t look as though a five year old has tied them !

@@MarcinKantor I did a bit more research and saw a video from a guy which used a similar setup as yours, but attached the teaser using a twisted dropper loop. This creates some extra distance between the fly and the leader line. This could make this rig also very usable for other fish which risk damaging the leader faster, I would think.

Good info. Just one bit to be aware off is shallow grounds. The tag can get caught easier if your fishing over kelps and rocks

Thanks for the video, very insightful and interesting. Just curious if you have compared the results of your approach to the standard water knot flier? I like the stand off nature of the presentation when using a tiny delta eel as my flier, but, will give your approach a go when using my sandeel fly ahead of my lure. Thanks for taking the time to do another informative and educational video. Top work.

Thank you very much! I did start with both setups when first using it and ended up discarding the one you describe, mainly because I was snagging more stuff with it when fishing over shallow reefs and the surface lures work was more affected by the fly being deeper in the water
