Both my parents passed away in early 2021, 7 weeks apart (unrelated illness, just coincidence) I had to drive 16 hrs 5x over a period of a year to take care of them in their last months as there were no flights due to Covid. Every journey was a Deadmau5 play list for the whole journey. The tracks are unreal, I love it, but find it really hard to listen to now, these tracks belong in my car I had at the time, travelling the length of France and England to reach Bonnie Scotland.

I recently watched deadmau5 work on a music video for a short time, without sounding like a dick. He looked deflated as heck. Like he was just busy at work I'm sure but I only stopped in as a fan and still stayed a fan. Point is: whatever projection it is, still continue to support, love and listen to the artist. No matter what you or they are going through. Ian take care of yourself as well man.

I'm willing to bet that he will never release this song, as if he's saying f*** you to the music industry. This track will be remembered as a track that all his true fans knew about, even while being posted and shared to us under a KZfaq account that has 0 relation to Deamau5 himself. I REALLY. FUCKING. LOVE. Electronic Music with this kinda slow, but constant progress. It shows it's evolving without losing it subtlety. And as the song goes by more layers are being added even without, sometimes, the listener noticing it's evolution quickly. But it does evolve, and boy by the end the listener looks back and realizes it's like he's had a full meal and is now nourished with pure bliss.

Same. I'm going through a tough time mentally at this point in my life. I've randomly stumbled upon a deadmau5 song (4ware) and then I went on this huge spree. Days later I'm still listening, then I found this... Speechless. It's helping me out a bit.

actually he does save projects only for "tracks", very often when it's just an idea he saves Ableton Clips for later use and then bins the project
@liteoner5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure he accumulates a lot of ditched projects. He said he'd deleted Suite 02, but months later he went over a few of his abandoned projects, and one of them he opened was Suite 02. He must have so many unfinished tracks that he doesn't even remember them.

This may have already been touched on in the comments, but I interpret this song as a genius illustration of our life cycle as humans. The early part of the song has childhood/teenage vibes, the middle of the song is like middle age where you get in your groove of life, but wait! Don't zone out in your groove for too long, because here comes old age at the end, until finally the song crescendos and the tempo starts to slow down, much as our final heartbeats do at the end of our lives. Deadmau5, thank you so much for showing us that we need to Hit Save, in our minds and hearts, and cherish all of our moments before they are gone.
