I also feel this reflects well on Ghost Rider. We've seen the Stare crispy critter beings FAR stronger than Wade. It is part of why he is crazy and part of why he doesn't remember horrible things, while his healing factor is pretty good and does repair some of his neural connections, it is far from perfect. @@Seoul_Soldier I am not that familiar with Starbrand other than that he was on the avengers. But the penance stare only works on people who have sins so what was the worst thing the character did?
@Blackopsspartn

@@henrypeters5291so I remember once going down a log rabbit hole of specific odd instances of the penance stare, and from what I found of the two times punisher was penance stared, the first he threw up and was winded and punisher says it’s because he feels no regret, but it’s more or less assumed ghost rider just looked at him a little to show the power and not actually trying to obliterate him. The second time he survived because he was touched by the feather of an angel (by deadpool who just… found one?) that would spare him from death once, so it saved him from the penance stare. For the most part the rules of the penance stare work. Or it’s explained how they survived it in some hand wavy fashion.

I wish the Penance Stare wasn’t constantly getting nerfed because its such a cool ability. But when it doesn’t work on Frank Castle because “he doesn’t regret anything”, it cheapens the power. I feel like the penance stare was done better here but it still sucks that its such a simple power yet the writers always write BS workarounds for it.

The thing about the penance stare is that normally it inflicts all the pain you have done to others on yourself, Deadpool is always feeling pain and has felt so much pain already, I think ghost rider knew that Deadpool wouldn’t just not die, but also not be affected/fazed by it, so ghost rider changed what would happen so Deadpool would realize.

Since O.P. is an idiot that does not explain what happens when Wade receives the penance stare, I will tell you what happened. Instead of seeing his victims and the evil he had done, he saw his life as a teen in the war, his visits to the hospital, learning he had crazy amounts of Cancer, and then being admitted to the Weapon X Program. It's unfortunate that content creators beat around the bush when it comes to youtube shorts. Everyone deserves to know...

Fun fact about the penance stare is that it doesn’t kill people by injuring them, it burns their souls, so theoretically at least, if Ghost Rider were to use his stare on Deadpool with full intent on seeing it through to the end there’s no way Deadpool could avoid dying because there’s no injuries for his healing factor to fix, Ghost Rider would be literally burning his very soul to ash
