Imagine if there were a million different versions of Wolverine, a million different versions of Deadpool, even a million different versions of Loki that exist in a different reality isolated and hidden from other realities and are policed by an organization calling themselves the TVA (Time Variance Authority) for trespassers from alternate realities then you'll begin to understand what direction the MCU were trying to go in these recent years. This current Deadpool movie has him dealing with Marvel characters from other realities while breaking the fourth wall as usual.

There are. If the multiverse is involved there are literally infinite versions of each. Any version that can possibly exist does exist.

If I’m not mistaken Deadpool is actually unique (like America Chavez). I forgot how they are called in the comics but some people exist only in one universe

The Loki TV series would explain most of whats going on here, with the multiverse and different versions. Basicly Logan was the end of that Wolverine, this is one from another dimension. We will also be seeing other versions of Dead Pool, including Dog Pool which we see in the knew trailer.

If you're confused, watch Loki, Hannah. Off the top of my head I don't remember if you did but it explains the TVA and multiverse stuff. Loki is super awesome with a cape.

It is multiverse stuff. Like Miles Morales Into the Spiderverse. So "Logan" the movie did happen and this a different Wolverine. In fact we might meet other Deadpools and Wolverines in the multiverse.

It's kind of hard to say when this takes place. The TVA, the people who acquired Deadpool, are pretty much time cops. And since they are in this story, it could involve any timeline. It's possibly a different Wolverine than the one in the Logan movie.

If this is written well enough she wouldn't have to. With the overwhelming number of films and shows I'm expecting marvel to realize not everyone has the time to watch hours or days worth of content as homework.

@@HSPaisley Yeah. Deadpool did some time traveling in the last movie. The Loki show explores the idea time cops called the TVA, the ones threatening Wade with a good time in the trailer.

@@HSPaisleyI doubt you'll have to. They'll most definitely explain what the TVA is in the movie. Loki is good though so I do recommend it but it's not essential or anything

I fully trust Ryan Reynolds when it comes to this character/franchise. Both Deadpool 1 and 2 were absolute bangers. This one should be just as smart, funny, and well executed as the others.

One thing to keep in mind is that he's playing a variant. Logan happened but they aren't touching it.

Marvel Studios: The Avengers and their member films, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc. Marvel Studios currently owned by Disney. Fox: Fantastic Four, X-Men and anything "Mutant" related, like Deadpool. Rights effectively returned to Marvel Studios after Disney/Fox merger. Universal: Hulk standalone films. Distribution rights were set to expire in 2023. Unsure if Universal still retains right of first refusal for Hulk films. Sony: Spider-Man and his rogues gallery of villains and allies. Sony retains the film rights if they produce a new live-action Spidey film every 5 years. Marvel Comics was struggling financially, so their management sold off the film rights to a bunch of their characters to keep the lights on way back in the late 90s. With the success of Marvel Studios from 2008-2019, the dream of fans was to have the film rights held by other studios pass to Marvel Studios to allow new crossover films to be made. The inability of the other three studios to consistently deliver films with critical/financial success compared to Marvel properties has made fans even more hyped for the successful properties like Deadpool and Wolverine to come to the MCU.

Yep, I 'watched' the last 3 episodes of the Witcher on fast forward just hoping the next scene wouldn't also be trash, and it was. But yeah I agree, not much growth in the Boys. Deadpool & Wolverine impressed me though! There is hope there!

I think one pitch was a bit of a buddy road trip movie, just now it's a multiverse road trip. There's a good change they will throw in a ton of cameos and references (given that we already see a couple in the trailers). I wonder if the movie will feel like constantly not getting the joke to anyone who didn't watch everything Marvel (not just MCU). That will be quite a balancing act.

Yeah, a lot of franchises are dusting off their old hits instead of writing new ones. Trek is a good example of why; They do something new, like Picard and Discovery's first seasons, Prodigy and Lower Decks and what do the fans do? Dump on it until they change everything. Disco got made more "Classic Trek-like" like (going as far as casting new Chris Pike and Spock) Picard's final boring-ass season was just Next Generation season 8, to almost universal fan acclaim. Strange New Worlds is literally The Original Series 2.0 Meanwhile, Lower Decks gets cancelled and Prodigy gets retconned out of existence. All the while fans keep shouting for a new legacy show, with legacy characters, once again bumbling around on the Enterprise. People don't want "new and interesting" they want the same thing over and over again and it gets a little tiring. (I'm that side out today, apparently.)

It seems like you may not have watched much from Phase 4 or Phase 5 of the MCU or The Boys spin-off series (low-key Season 3b). I don't want to say anything else if that's true. If it's not, sorry for making the presumption. PS - I know this is completely off-topic, but I love your face... not in the icky way... it is crazy expressive. Your eyes light up when you get that big smile.

Don't know if you ever got round to it but you might like Gen-V, the spin-off of The Boys. I suspect there may be some things that happen in that which will be a part of S4. Edit: Saw the new trailer for S4 that was just released and there is definitely some connection with Gen-V.

@@HSPaisley why not. I have no idea if what happens in it is a big plot point of S4 or just some extra details. If you do another reaction to the new trailer for the Boys you could also include the trailer for Gen V too and see if it is something you want to watch.

@@HSPaisley Loki is pretty short, and buttts right up to Endgame, which is where most people got off the ride. You dont need a lot else if youve seen a couple xmen movies. Loki is worth the watch for sure.
