Oh man, I've had chronic hives every day since Feb 2014 so I feel your pain. Nothing seems to work, either. Not oral/topical antihistamines, cutting out dairy/meet/gluten/grains, eating organic, wearing loose clothes, etc. It suuuuuuucks and really is like being trapped in your itchy body. 😭 Hopefully one day there will be a treatment that actually works to save us from our itchiness.

I hope you see this Janiece!! I have chronic hives as well as my mother and we have both seen separate allergists about it and they both said take Zyrtec, Pepcid (Famotidine) [yes I know its used for heartburn, but it takes away the last 5-10% of burn from the hives, AND get a prescription for Singulair!!! It is the key to take all the rest of the hives down so you aren't itching. You may have a bit of redness still, but the itching and burning will be gone! I swear by this! Check into it!! Good luck!! I know it's totally miserable!

I started getting chronic hives the week before the Texas winter storm and they were constant for over two weeks. My doctor said an allergist probably couldn’t help because it may be stress related. She prescribed me hydroxyzine for anxiety and the hives. Instantly started working. I’m still dealing with them and they come back when I run out of medicine. But it’s a real relief for the time on it.

Janiece I understand that you have chronic hive flares of undetermined cause many of us do too. The itching is hard to deal with and tried many ways of stopping them but still have them. Your right everyone is different especially when it comes to health issues. I tend to get hives when I eat certain foods or am under emotional stress .My doctor said it is an outward sign of internal stress ,what works for me is a bath of Epsom salts and oatmeal it reduces the amount of itching for me.I hope your hives go away soon.Keep moving forward!

I was diagnosed with chronic hives as well, nearly 8 years ago. I've been in a constant break out since September :( my whole body has been covered in this horrible rash for almost a year. I've taken all kinds of meds and tried everything I can find to help it. NOTHING WORKS! This day for you is my every day. I can understand how you were feeling in the day you recorded this. It sucks! The itch is real!

I had chicken pox as a kid and they were not fun. I had hives from stress and they itched and just about drove me crazy. Told to take benadryl, I slept for almost 12 hours and felt like crap when I woke up. I think I could deal with the itch more them the benadryl. Hope you get over this soon and feel better. Maybe one thing to try ( I know lots of advice) is to soak in a oatmeal bath. I have heard it soothes the itch. Good luck.

I have an "overactive immune system" which creates sever sensitivity and results in hives. I find that in my case the liquid Benadryl is less effective than the pill form. I also find that hydrocortisone cream helps to relive some of the itch. But that is just what works for me. I also use Zyrtec twice a day.

That sucks so bad! Have you tried an oatmeal bath? It’s definitely not gonna solve the problem but maybe you’d get some relief? I think there’s products you can get at Walgreens for an oatmeal bath. 3:03 I am Allergic to Latex, Compazine, Benadryl. You are described exactly what it was like when I was given both the Benadryl and Compazine by IV in the Hospital. I felt like I was going to DIE and like i wanted to move but at the same time I couldn't move and I was very Dizzy while I felt very sick to my stomach. I felt like I was those two people who were in the water while the Titanic was sinking and they were trying to yell to each other and even know they tried to yell to themselves they could hear themselves yell but the other couldn't hear each other. The feeling was kind of like that but just imagine you trying to yell at the top of your lungs but you can't hear your own voice and it sounds like your own voice is so quiet and distant. Could you imagine if you were screaming out for help or in pain and even know someone was standing right beside you they couldn't hear your cry's for help? That was the feeling for me when they gave me those drugs. It doesn't feel good when you feel trapped in your body and you can't do anything about it?

I have MCAS, and my biggest mast cell issue is having skin allergies and reactions. So I feel this too much. I'm allergic to w/e the chilly pads are made out of, the actual ones with that name as the brand, that are some weird foam. I should have known better than to use it when I realized it was not a microfiber towel. Also caused 3 lymph nodes to swell, really bad reaction. And yes, same illness or no, EVERYONE'S body is different. MCAS people especially know this. Much love to you, wishing you well from the midwest! ♥

My chronic hives are from my autoimmune disease, my flares are triggered by too much sun, they are over my whole body. I was originally told the zyrtec thing, then eventually they had to put me on Xolair for a few months to come out of the massive flare, now I take a lot of rx antihistamines to keep them at bay. Try a cool damp cloth on the hives, it helps the itching and burning.

Although some are commenting that hives are no big deal, etc, severe hives especially around the face, neck or chest can be a sign of anaphylaxis. If you start to feel itching and/or tightening in your throat and start to have trouble breathing, that’s the start if anaphylaxis and you definitely need an antihistamine like Benedryl at the very least! I hope you get relief soon, and they can figure out what may be causing them to flare.

IV Benadryl is the worst. I thought I was going to have to epi with IV Benadryl! It's because I think it goes into the port so quickly. I have to put it in 100ml bags of saline or I react to the Benadryl itself. I also think it has something to do with the preservatives, I've been told. I don't know when you recorded this video, but I hope your feeling better, I hope the hives are gone. Oh do you think it could be MCAS related? Or maybe sun triggered or something? Just throwing ideas out there. Like you said every one is different, 2 people can have MCAS but have different symptoms and severities.
