Would love for you to do an entire episode on Ticks and Lyme. It's becoming an ever increasing issue in Ontario. I got bit last year in Frontenac and was on Lyme meds for 3 weeks. With 3 little kids it's making me really reconsider some of my parenting decisions, which my doctor is telling me I should do, but I want to still get them out. I also know a lot fo turkey hunters are now getting Lyme too. Scary.

Best advice was "don't let the bugs keep you from going out."

The ticks are brutal this year, and here on Cape Cod, they have been out since February. I enjoy your channel, great content and always fun to watch. Thanks Kevin.

I'd love to visit the maritimes next summer but I wonder how I'd fare with the insects, being from Vancouver Island and in my locality there are almost no biting insects to speak of...

Was told to wear light colored pant and bugs would not be attracted. Not sure if I could find any as light as Cody's or Scott's legs. Can't swat mosquitoes on legs when portaging a canoe.

You make it sound like hell there! I think I'll go off to the Everglades where it's not as much of a problem.

Hi Kevin, Are any bugs getting under the net at the ground level? I guess you have to get sure that the net is touching ground very well everywhere. Sorry, I have biting bugs phobia! LOL I wish there was somehting similar lightweight for backpackers

it's pegged down. A few mosquitioes get in when you enter and exit. Black flies as well - but they gather up at the corners of the tarp and are not a problem.

Great vid...but what to do about those nasty annoying house fly type flies that find their way into your canoe and actually bite your ankles continually ??? Can't ever seem to get them out once they have found their way into your canoe...HELP !!!!
@TheHappyCamper
@TheHappyCamper 7 жыл бұрын
Those are called ankle biters and both the male and female bite. They're really difficult to kill. I always bring a fly swatter on trip for those.

In America we just unload our assault rifles on every single mosquito we see. Just kidding about the assault rifles ( everyone knows an AR15 is a "sporting rifle" and not an assault rifle)
