Unreasonable people have a tendency to create problems and do not want to let these problems go! They use a lot of “ what if” to hold onto their situation! A form of manipulation and entitlement to have their way!

Oh, Tamara this was a goodie. Much appreciated. Many people in my family come across as if they are better than everyone else without literally saying so. Or, as you also stated, better than those who do not approach life x,y and z as they do. Very unreasonable indeed. For some time now, I have limited and/or canceled my contact with those types.

Thank you! And yes, I don't blame you for limiting or ending contact. These individuals can drain you.

That's a tough job indeed!! My late grandmother worked in hotels all her life and worked in two very popular ones: The Marriott and The Hilton hotels. She went through so much! People just aren't kind, humble, and grateful to those who run hotels for them to be "at home" in until they leave.

@@TherapistTamaraHill that's HILARIOUS!....i guess I mean a crazy coincidence...I work at a historical hotel in downtown Denver....owned by Marriott. Thank you for this. It's going to help me handle those types of people better...so it doesn't end up in a frustrating circular conversation.

Holding good thoughts for you. Like education, policing, and medicine, that has to be a tough environment to work in. I hope there are lots of decent people sprinkled in there to bring you some relief. ☮️

Polygamy is illegal and needs to be inforced Polygamy can have many disadvantages, including: Gender inequality Polygamy can reinforce gender stereotypes and give husbands the power to end marriages if they feel their wives aren't meeting their needs. Women in polygynous communities may also experience discrimination, unequal treatment, and domestic violence. Psychological distress Women in polygamous marriages may experience higher levels of emotional distress, low self-esteem, loneliness, and fear than women in monogamous marriages. Husbands' discriminatory behavior can also lead to mental health issues like jealousy, unhealthy competition, and poor marital satisfaction. Social problems Polygamous cultures may have higher rates of crime, including rape, kidnapping, murder, assault, robbery, and fraud. In inner cities, polygamy could also lead to more people joining street gangs and drug gangs. Other problems Women in polygynous communities may also marry younger, have more children, and have higher rates of HIV infection, female genital mutilation, and sex trafficking. Their children may also be less likely to receive an education

This exactly describes my covert narc dad. Especially when you talk about the tone of the things they say and also the actions that they take that are contradictory to the positive things they say. He would always say he thought I was intelligent, especially when he was in front of other people (playing the role of a doting,, encouraging father for praise) but then as soon as he got an attitude he would do the infantalizing thing. He would treat me like I was slow, pathetic and unreasonably incapable. I can't make mistakes. He once tried to make himself seem more important by telling a neighbor I made microchips as if I designed them when in reality I worked at microchip warehouse in a fab. He was trying to give the impression of "look how important I am because my daughter does important things and therefore is important" O_O. . I promptly corrected him. I hate him.

It's bad enough when parents have favorite children, but when they also deny their favoritism (gaslight), it's a mindeff for everyone. The favorited ones get the idea that they actually are better than the unfavorited ones, and worse, they may come to believe they are better than everyone else. The unfavorited ones come to believe that they are unworthy. Thumbs down.
