For many reasons, Christmas of 2020 is a season of mixed emotions. During this busy-yet-different season, I've been thinking of several families I work with. For them, this is the first Christmas without someone in their home... because of cancer. There are few things more starkly loud as the absence of a child at Christmas.
To each of you, I want you to know that the people on your care team are thinking of you, praying for you, and wishing there was something more that we could do.
As a member of such a care team, I'd like to say that we think of you and your child often. We miss you. We are so thankful that we got to take care of your child... and they still make us smile.
Your child will never be forgotten.
I am honored to closely guard the memories I have of them-- and I'm always up for swapping some stories of happy moments.
with love, hope, and gratitude,
PT Dan
