I encourage all mothers to not be afraid to completely let go and sign off duty as a mom of adult children. You can keeo praying for them but you dont need to keeo doing for them, planning for them, thinking for them, trying to save them from their own mistakes and definitely not put up with false entitlement and lack of gratitude. Find your own life and enjoy being liberated from being mom. Create your life that is seperate from being a mother. You can decide if its an emergency and you need to step in but let them figure out life without mom for awhile.

My daughter is 28 years old and she has inherited my depression and severe anxiety issues and right now she is dealing with heartbreak ...her spouse of 7 years is cheating on her and has told her she has 2 weeks to get her own place and then her 18 year old cat Is about to die any day now and she is scaring me because she is talking about how she just wants to die and as a mother this just crushes my heart and soul...I feel like this is something I can't fix ...I can't make her spouse love her and I can't save her beloved pet from passing away as well as many other issues that are going on in her life so now I feel all I can do is pray and be there for her...I have not been able to sleep lately because I'm wrecked with worry about her but i know she will get through this hard time in her life...

I needed this as I struggle with two adult daughters and my granddaughter. It’s not just teens. I tried to raise them the best I knew at that time. I lay here in tears and so depressed just not knowing what to do and how to deal with the problems we have. I have no family to talk to about this for guidance except my older sister who is sick herself and doesn’t need my problems. All I know what to do at this point is pray.

Thankful God led me here. My adult son is lost. Just found out yesterday that he was moving across the country today. He is making bad decisions. I'm praying for my prodigal son to come back to me. Trusting God through the tears. He has been in church until he revolted. 😢 He is now 23 but always my baby.

I have discovered that my Mom prayers are like a giant duster over my adult children. I cannot make anything happen but I can lovingly dust away the confusion and the lies that they are battling today.

My adult son and I have always been very close. He and his wife had 4 children, with whom I spent a lot of time. I loved them so much. And they loved me. My husband and I went out for lunch alternating every Friday. Then they had a fifth child! I was delighted!! My beloved daughter and her husband and children lived in California. For reasons yet unclear to us my son’s wife (who, we loved, but had concerns about her) decided that we were no longer allowed to see our grandchildren. The baby girl is almost 5 years old and doesn’t know that I am her Grandmother. We have prayed, as have many friends who love us. My son loves us, but he is controlled by the woman he married. Attempts at reconciliation fail. I don’t know what to do with the pain!

I know my grandparents prayed for me and my siblings. Knowing they went to church and we're strict holy rollers. They prayed for a thousand generations of children and not just their own children. They loved us before we were thought of. Jeremiah 29:11. All of scripture is our guidance.

Although I continually have to say “I trust you Lord” every single day practically, this message was one that I needed to hear. Going to get the prayer book as well 🙏🏻💜

Thank you for your story. We know in our heart that God is always there to listen to our prayer, but sometimes it needs some like your story to reminded us that the Lord is listening. I have children young and adult the more they get older the more the worries I have because they are out of reach. I have to remind myself just pray and put it in God hands that he will shape them,because he loves them even more than we do. I like to pray for all who are lost will find the way back to the Lord. I lost my my mom at age 9. New mom didn't like us four kids. I had 3 children with an abusive ex. I gave them my all. My ex even tried to turn them against me. I love them so much, now their wives are taking them away from me. Just seems so wrong and not fair.

My 21yr daughter is pregnant, living with a 26 yr man who won’t work. My daughter works two jobs and they aren’t making it. I can’t get through to her, so I have surrounded her to the Lord.
