I liked that they kept the Doctor's passifism, he didn't want to use the gun but instead let Rick basically destroy himself

This episode of Death Battle was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who (it hasn't actually been on the air 60 years; the original run was canceled in 1989, and outside of one TV movie, didn't come back until 2005). Meanwhile, Rick and Morty not only cannot compete with that, it's also actually younger than Death Battle.

I really appreciate how Death Battle now does their best to adapt the combatants personalities and voices into the video, along with their abilities. I guess my only critique is that they didn’t utilise the fact that in one episode the Tardis died when it entered another universe, which Rick’s portal gun could do.

They already did, and its one of the best and heart warming fights ever made. Both Goku and Superman are incredible charactera in their own worlds. If DC and Toriyama ever plan on making a crossover. I'd really love to see them working together as friends, cause those two have a lot in common.

From what I saw during the video. You guys need to watch Doctor Who season 3 episode 11, called “Blink”. It’s also one of the more common episodes to introduce someone to the franchise with. Coincidentally also one of the most terrifying episodes in the entirety of the show.

I really loved some parts of this fight such as at the start where Rick tells the Space Cruiser to keep Morty safe or when The Doctor steps out and his immediate concern is what they'd done to the Tardis. The part where they fell into a group of Weeping Angels, and you see The Doctor keeps his eyes wide open while looking around rapidly as he tells Rick to do the opposite. Then how despite everything happening he still hesitates to use the gun that ultimately wins the fight for him by Rick's own actions. Ignoring the fight proper I also loved the bit during the analyses where Boomstick goes "so uh if the Tardis doesn't like you. You may get lost inside it forever." in such a do this and your screwed kind of way. As to the newest Superman vs Goku fight the ending of that fight was a really nice touch.

Team Four Star threw in a lot of Doctor Who references during Future Trunks's time on the show.

There are 2 things about The Doctor that I think should have been addressed, one that works for him being that the TARDIS can produce a force field protecting people inside and close by, and one thing that works against him in that he often wins fights through intimidation, like he will be unarmed and surrounded by an army pointing guns at him and he will just let them know who he is and they freak out and run away, I don't think that tactic would work against Rick.

If you've never seen an episode of Dr. Who, I highly recommend starting with the episode called "Don't Blink". Just to get a feeling for how crazy the episodes and the Dr.-verse. Then go back to Season 1, with the previous actor, the 9th Dr.

Doctor Who has been on for 60 years and as such got some spin off series. Those spin offs includes The Sarah Jane Adventures which follows former Companion Sarah Jane Smith. And also Torchwood, which is an Anagram of Doctor Who and follows Captain Jack Harkness who is the friend of the Doctor. Also the actor for the 10th and 14th doctors is David Tenant who is a Scottish man that is the son in law of Peter Davison. Davison played the fifth incarnation of the Doctor back during the classic era of the series.

Doctor Who is one of those gems that not many people nowadays would really consider watching just because of how old the series is, but I cannot recommend it enough. If you like fun sci-fi adventure with a cheeky, charming protagonist and a whole slew of interesting companions then I highly recommend watching it.

The Doctor wins and its not even close. Like he still fight with kid gloves on. He didn't bring 90% of his deadly weapons. Heck he didn't need them. He manipulated Rick to delete himself. Thats a pro gamer move right there ...

It's not actually round 3. It's a complete reboot and reexamination of the first episode including modern material. Since those 10 years ago, Death Battle has gained a new research team, a new way of measuring feats, a new outlook on certain feats, and no longer see Superman has "having no limits." With all this, they wanted to give it another go and start over from scratch, especially since Ben, the showrunner and voice of Wiz, says that he pretty much despises those last two fights, especially the 2nd one.

Just a fun fact. The Doctor is so terrifying an entire arc of one Doctor depicted him being the cause of all existence ending so all of his worst enemies, even the Daleks, who will kill inferior versions of themselves to cement their current stature as the supreme race, worked with other races to trap him in a sort of time prison. The actual cuplrit was the Tardis itself basically overloading and exploding but the idea a man is so unknown and terrifying to face that the alien super race hellbent on killing everything deemed inferior works with other creatures just to stop him from potentially erasing existence itself is pretty terrifying as a concept.

One thing I've leaned over all my years of watching Doctor Who, never bet against The Doctor.

Rick & Morty is like Doc Brown and Marty McFly meets Futurama and South Park. And it's genius. But you need the right mindset for it.

If you’re interested in watching Doctor Who now is a pretty good time to do so because of the 60th anniversary episodes but also because we’re getting the 15th Doctor for the Christmas special, not that couldn’t start any other time but the bbc signed a deal with Disney to put it on Disney+, I’d recommend starting with eccleston at the start of nu-who because as much as I like classic who, it’s not something everyone might enjoy. Apparently only the episodes from the 60th specials onwards will be on Disney+ which is unfortunate.

I think yall would really enjoy Doctor Who. Maybe check it out. (Start with modern Who)

Honestly I only started seeing bits of Dr. WHO and it's been a trip. I wanna say I'm amazed that I slept on it for so long, but then I thought about it and...yeah I had a full plate of Sci-Fi as a kid. Like honestly dozens of stuff.

Fight was so one sided, Rick got an impractical combat boost like Operation phoenix (Rick died over and over all episode until someone showed him mercy), while the Doctors best weapons were only implied. had to make it seem like a fair fight somehow.

Unlike Vegeta vs Thor and Freeza vs Megatron, Goku Vs Superman contains no spoilers for the Buu saga, so I think you guys can watch it normally.

You really should check out Doctor Who in general; it's such a good series. Like many say, check out 'Don't Blink'; as it's what we refer to as a Doctor-lite episode with him hardly involved yet still playing a part to progress the episode on, and if that gets you peaked into more, start with the 2005 premiere episode 'Rose'. You'll have a fantastic time.

The thing is... This is really a one-sided match-up. It was one-sided enough that the Doctor could defeat Rick while staying pacifist. If the Doctor was given the normal "Kill Rick" main goal, then the Doctor would have won this fairly early. Rick is strong, but he doesnt have either the skills or the history that the Doctor has.

The thing is while Rick and Morty started as a parody of Doc Brown and Marty Mcfly it is much more a parody of Doctor Who, Rick and the doctor are very similar characters but the doctor cares to much having every death weigh on him Rick has become numb to the consequences of his actions

they actually downplayed the doctor a fair bit here. The glory is something the doctor can access, and with it he becomes one of the most powerful combatants on the show of all time. Even without that he had multiple insta win options like the time key, the moment, the heart of the tardis, absorbing the time vortex. The word doctor only means healer on earth, everywhere else? They haven`t mentioned the most impressive thing, that Rick C-137(protagonist, the main Rick we see in most series) have made. It....doesn`t really matter in context of Death Battle itself, this fact wouldn`t do anything in fight, but he created Central Finite Curve, it`s a wall around infinity, separated all the infinite universes from all the infinite universes where he's the smartest man in the universe. He took part of infinity to himself and, basically, became a god. It`s funny, how Ricks love put boundless in boundaries, well, at least two of them, because there`s other Rick, who created The Weapon Too Cool For a Name(known to inferiors as "The Omega Device"). You may ask "What`s this one do?" Well, it kills you, EVERY of you. If one version of person will die by this weapon, then it erases EVERY other version of this person across infinity.

Never either of these shows but I felt the doctor would.....i mean his powers are that of humble god....from my point of view ......where as Rick is too much of a violent dweeb looking to prove things and things go worse

Ben said that Part 2 was not a true sequel as the characters were not in character of themselves and that they decided to use the strongest versions of Goku and Superman (Goku: Dragon Ball Heroes, Superman: DC Canon Series) to end the debate.
