Miss Marple’s old friend Dolly Bantry has heard some news about one of the village girls who threw herself off a bridge and drowned; the poor girl had discovered she was pregnant. Miss Marple doesn’t believe it was suicide and is sure she knows the name of the murderer...
This story, first published in 1931 in Nash’s Pall Mall Magazine, contains only four of the characters from The Tuesday Night Club. It first appeared in book form in the collection The Thirteen Problems.
It has never been adapted.

I’m enjoying the story but the background music is distracting and weird to me

Irritating background noise. Sounds like Gregorian chants. It’s unsettling. Hard to concentrate on the story. Better than the awful piano though. If you must add background noise make it a crackling log fire. That’s where they are sitting after all!

You people must stop reading novels without acknowledging the real authors, the people who did all the work, up front. It's immoral and, I would think, illegal.
