Few weeks after this movie opened I saw it at the drive-in. Looking around I couldn't help but notice people brought out lots of kids. Needless to say before the first 20 minutes of the movie was over. Close to 30 cars was hauling their kids away from there. I loved this movie. Bravo

@@mentally.ill.ophelia It wasn't a disease it was called not getting enough calcium she could've prevented this had she cared about her health and not her looks, Hypocalcemia is a treatable condition. Symptoms of hypocalcemia usually go away once your calcium levels are back to normal. so the disease didn't kill her, because she was lacking it before she entered the beach. she was going to die regardless had she been on that beach due to her arrogant nature. it just would take way longer without being at the beach.

You know, I love the creepy weird shots in this movie. I think they act weirdly on purpose! just think about it. if you were aging THAT fast in one day, do you know how fast your minds would be moving? that's pretty insane to think about. I think it would cause you to act very weird!! which is what this movie displayed.

Their bodies became positive or negatively charged after entering beach. Try pulling two powerful magnets 🧲 apart. It ain’t happening. That’s why leaving the beach caused the blackouts. The coral broke down the magnetic field.

Yes. Bones frakturing is awful. Especially when you have a hospital nearby which doctors are.... I don't know how to say. .... doctor doesn't mean that you're relieved from suffering. When they don't see after X-raying - you suffer. Like in the middleages. It's really painful. Lasting . Wasted time.

Many of the people had underlying health problems that worsened because of the time speed up. The black lady had seizures. The gnarled woman had a bone disease. The violent man had schizophrenia. The black guy had hemophilia, so his wounds didn’t heal quickly like other wounds. The girl fell off the cliff bc they would black out when trying to escape the beach. Idk how the doctor died or the first lady died, but I assume he tried to swim out as a last ditch effort and she either tried the same and drowned as well, or she had some underlying health condition that killed her bc of time speeding up.

Probably not supposed to be a comedy but goodness this had a “so bad it’s good/funny” feel to it. More funny than good obviously, but it didn’t have to be. The acting and the beating the audience over the head with everything that’s happening is ridiculous. “God it’s already healed in the wrong position” is a good example of that. Nothing that’s shown in this movie is by accident. The silverware, the mothers comments about rust, the coded word puzzle, asking guests what their occupations were etc. I’m sure the book is far better than this movie ever could be. The wrap up at the end is another example of beating the audience over the head just in case we didn’t catch every thing we watched. Give it up M Night please

Having read Sandcastle, it really isn't that much better. The B&W art coloring and style were hard to look at and didn't go as far with its concept as the movie did. I will concede that the movie's very strange acting and stupidly unsubtle dialogue brought it down.

I love the graphic novel. It's definitely very different... more Kafkaesque and somewhat dreamlike, and reminds me of the old Luis Bunuel movie, The Exterminating Angel. Shayamalan made this more sci-fi/thriller/horror, which I don't mind. Some scenes do work well and he pushes characters more to reexamine their relationships (than in the book). But yes, my gripe with the film was the lack of subtlety. The ending with no ambiguity was unbearable to me.

Schizophreni does not get worse as you age and also does not make you forget that you know people. That’s dementia, straight case of it too, forgetting who you are and remmebering who you USED to be

movie was kinda dumb, they would need to be eating all the time otherwise the accelerated metabolism would have killed them of malnutrition the very first few seconds they entered the beach

Actually it's possible that several of them did, we don't know their ages when they die and it depends on what you call "old". Like, plenty of people IRL die at age 70. Also plenty at 80. Etc etc
