I think the way to make Blightlords good is to give their plague storm bolters a flat 2 damage (and maybe even 1 Ap). That way the deathshroud will be the melee terminators and the blightlords will be the shooty terminators.

I saw someone in a group chat recently ask if plaguebearers are worth taking. After doing a comparison, it looks like they're a safe replacement to the plague marines if you don't plan on using any plague marine leaders.

Plaguebearers at their new cost actually look preeetty damn interesting as a choice. definitely worth looking into!

Still very new to the Hobby myself I started a few months ago with Ultramarines but I'm now starting on a Deathguard Army and got some Plauge Marines recently and im really looking forward to painting them and learning how to play and build my army properly so this will help me alot especially since the new dataslate came out thank you!!!!

@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien I'm not 100 percent sure yet I'm thinking I'll do Deathguard Green and then get some fleshy colored contrast paint with some Blood for the blood god and some brown or rust colored wash to make them look more freshly rotting and decayed and some off whites and blacks for the boney parts

Move characteristics can never be changed below 1. Its not much but you can not lock someone in with multiple plaguecasters.

You can stack it technically BUT remember hit and wound rolls can never be affected by more than a total of +1/-1 so it wouldnt really do anything except cancel out any bonuses to wound

This sounds the same as stacking modifiers like -1 to hit. or -1 to ws/bs. why is this different in stacking the same effect like the -2 T?

Auras of the same name are specifically stated not to stack so having 3 nurgles gift overlapping on a unit does not stack

So with the "Stacking Clarification": Does the -1 toughness and contagion Sickness you choose, stack with the helbrutes named ability "Infused with the Blessings of Nurgle", essentially stacking contagions twice, since its technically NOT an AURA, right?

....wait...but then would the helbrutes ability stack with itself? It's not an aura..... If you brought 3 helbrutes would the ability stack 3 times for -3t AND -3 ws/bs or whatever? In addition to being withing the contagion range aura? I'm clearly a confused idiot, hahaha.

Oh no, a third thought.... Could each helbrute apply this ability twice per turn? Once in the Shooting phase and once in the Fight phase?!

@@Darman4321 The hellbrute ability works but the problem is the helbrute only makes them count as being in contagion range. You then check the units Nurgles gift ability to see the effects of contagion range and that ability itself is an aura so it doesnt stack, Simplified Not Simple RIGHT!?! XD

Ok I don’t know if damage caps are still a thing in 10th like abbadon. But if it does whose rule do you follow? Damage can’t be modified vs.damage cap. If you cap at 4 but i do 12 damage you have modified my damage.

If we have two units with contagion auras, next to an enemy unit, does it have - 2 toughness?

Auras specifically don't stack so contagion unfortunately doesn't stack

@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien Would Helbrutes "Blessings of Nurgle" stack? The wording seems iffy since its not an aura, but applies auras effects.

@@Darman4321 because the rule states they count as being in range of this model. The rule that is affecting them is the nurgles gift ability which as an Aura would not stack. Its definitely a weird one though

@@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien The part that gets me is "Example 1: Anna", because she uses the Great Unclean one to Apply the ABILITY, Nurgles Rot. Nurgles rot modifies -1T So does the Helbrute apply his ability, Blessings of nurgle, with the contagion range modifiers? Because "Blessings of Nurgle" ITSELF is not an aura ability. Is Contagion a "condition"? It seems like "Within contagion range" is simplified text to reference whatever contagion you choose at the start but...I'm still confused.

@@Darman4321 Nurgles Rot is the name of the great unclean ones ability. Try not confuse it with our ability nurgles gift. 2 separate rules that just so happen to have the same effect.

We didn't have any dev wound weapons par Mortarions 1 dmg psychic attack so the change doesn't effect really anything for us and DG already have all the tools they need to counter custodes pretty hard

Things like that stacking effect commentary and sticky objectives commentary make me think they're trying too hard to make things more ironclad for competitive play. I don't know anyone in a million years who would think to do some of the weird stratagem interactions mentioned (before the new sticky objectives clarification that is)

Just a quick correction: PBC went up by 15 points so it's not as tragic as other indirect models got hit. I also don't understand what these pesky KZfaqrs mean saying DG has been hit hard? Maybe one build got hit hard but we have so many other options that it barely registers 🤷🏻‍♂️ also thanks for the content Gents!
