Picked up death guard at end of 9th and this series couldn’t have come at a more perfect time to get back into the hobby. Listened to the last few videos a few times each now as I pick up more stuff on each listen.

GW missed an opportunity to buff the LoC by allowing him an aura that procs a second contagion effect. Imagine a unit that stacks the -ws/bs and -save?

Or something like before, just +3 inch to his aura. Then we could stack with the enhancement for a +6 inch aura. Deep strike him round 2 to get a 12 inch aura or round 3 to get a 15 inch aura. That alone would make him great. But I agree that he does nothing right now :/

I have found I really like the Chaos lord in termiantor armor for my 3rd terminator character. With the extra contagion range he feels really useful.

May I ask you to confirm something please? You mention about the Tallyman not being able to do his CP farm while in a transport which is correct. But if you see page 11 in the Rules Commentary under ‘reserve units’ the last sentence reads as if the tallyman can CP farm while he’s off the board in reserves!? 😂

If the plague surgeon could take a page out of the tech marine rulebook and get lone operator if near a unit and be allowed to heal or resurrect in any unit. Would be great to chase terminators around.

I need this series to learn more. Im new on here, learning w40k, and i just love Death Guard theme, even if itsnot in his best shape(as you say) i wanna learn to play this factions, just look badass. I really trying to push the Miasmic Malignifier to the table to morph the map to my favor, its really intresting 😂. Right now im playing only 1k armys cos need to learn all about the game but, wanna say, thanks for the time on make this videos, i really apresiated.

I really love the Icon Bearer because since their ability applies to the ENTIRE UNIT they love hanging out with their Bell buddy so they can spread their -2LD further as well. Chaos Space Marines will reconsider their Dark Pacts (possibly)

Another excellent deep dive, sir! I always pick up another new nuance i wasn't taking advantage of every time i watch one. To touch on your point about un-attached characters. I gave party bus a try this weekend and realized i wasn't ready to manage so many activations efficiently -- but I'd love to go over some real world examples of how you'd attack a situation with any given unit, especially good characters. Set up a board, put some kind of normal game situation into motion and lets break down strategies of death guard against . Who are our best matchups? worst matchups? Hows a deployment look against them? When should you deepstrike vs not Love to pick your brain more

Heyyyyy Aidan, this was a great video! Can you do us a favor? In videos like this, it'd be great to add Chapters to this video to make it easier for people to find the information they want about the specific characters. I'd love to reference this video with the specific timestamps for people when they have questions on the Facebook Group/Discord/Reddit about certain characters and whether or not they're worth taking, and it'd be easier to find those specific timestamps if you had chapters set up for each character. As for what I'd like to hear next; I'd love to hear more about your ideas and examples of how your tournament list is evolving post-dataslate.

Thank you for these oxford tier death guard lectures. Who needs over powered rules when you can learn the ins and out from the best. Cheers mate. One thought maybe do an addendum video for balanced dataslates to kinda speak on how this changes your opinion on things in the future. Just a thought. Keep it up and have a wonderful day

i think the surgeon should have ability to heal any model in our army as a techmarine because our vehicles actually are living creatures along with lone op if near daemon unit

With Random secondaries and having gone first; My unit of Plague marines with a Noxious Blightbringer and an Icon bearer I was able to charge with the unit and their Land Raider, with 1CP to reroll the charge was able to max out 'Behind Enemy Lines' turn one and my opponent was unable to take me off of his homefield objective for the entire game.

You would be hitting on 3s as you only get the +1 hit from heavy if you remain stationary.

Loving this series, am a new Dg player, never played Dg before, so am enjoying it so far, quick question on Mortarion, how does his aura work vs things like a Ctaan, with half damage?

@@paulbridge6063 both UKTC and WTC which are the largest tournament organisers in Europe and the UK have in their rulings clarified that any modifier to damage, ap etc to weapons equipped by a model cannot be modified. These can be found with a Google search. But the tldr is that the rule halves the damage of the weapon ergo changing its characteristic therefo it cannot be modified whether subtraction or division per mortys aura

Can you use two icon Bearers? If one gets himself perished- you could still have a chance to pop the banner elsewhere?

You definitely can! Could even put 3 in a rhino and send one to his "true purpose" every turn (pop banner then die horribly)

Can you clarify some things about the biologist putrifier? Specifically, how is it able to give its assault keyword to the rhino through the firing port and the rhino can still do actions? Wouldn't firing with the purifiers grenades prevent it from being eligible to shoot and therefore to do actions?

I think (not sure tho) that firing deck means "chose 2 weapons of models embarked: the rhino counts as having those weapons in addition to his" instead of "the rhino can shoot with those weapons". Since the rhino is equipped with an assault weapon, he can advance and do an action instead of shooting with the big grenade.

So looking into this myself its coming down to TO rulings atm as its being played differently in different rulings, Some say as cladio has stated you are equipped with it and therefore can use the assault keyword but also others are ruling you aren't equipped with it until firing therefore now unable to be eligible to shoot etc. As always ask your TO if your unsure :)

Where do you see firing deck on the data sheet? I wanna make sure I do this correctly in friendly games and have a way to back it up

@@theberachi on the rhino abilities it has firing deck 2. Firing deck is a core rule that allows you to pick upto X weapons equipped by models inside the transport and the transport can fire them as If it was its own weapon

I agree that the loc is a little bad in terms of movement, since he’s not great at killing two things, but what he does touch is just dead with deathshroud, & it forces my opponent to pour into him.

Would a Chaos Lord with a Pllague Combi and exalted weapon work ok when leading a batch of Plague marines?

Id reccomend a plague fist if possible but his main value is in his aura so dont worry if you dont have him modelles with a fist

Hey, I'm new to 40k 10th ed. If you use the sorcerers once per game strat to increase ap and damage, you said you roll 2d6s. Thats alot of rolls for hazardous? He will die with two rolls of 1 with 3 mortals per roll of 1? Is this correct and if hes in a unit, won't they take the rest of the mortals if you roll more??

Hey, apologies what i was saying is that when you use the once per game you want to use the hazardous profile as this will give you 2d6 shots. It is just 1 dice for hazardous regardless of the shot amount :)

You said that Mortarions ignore modifier aura ignores AP, although the ability states, that it exculdes modifiers to saving throws. Im pretty sure, that AP is a modifier to the throw and not the characteristic. Or am i wrong here?

Hi sorry you may of misunderstood me. Mortarion allows you to ignore abilities that reduce the AP of your attack towards the enemy. Such as Armor of Contempt stratagem for space marines. He doesn't allow you to ignore the AP of incoming enemy attacks. Hope this clarifies what i meant for you :)

I did the same thing even worse I thought he gave it to everything so I was rolling him giving Rhinos and MBH's FnP ... then I learned it was only infantry and he's been missing from my army ever since

Maybe vs melee matchups but overall no I think we are in a good spot but not overpowered

Your wall example for the surgeon is even more pointless because of sticky objectives. Don't need to resurrect to hold the objective
