I'm not sure if you guys are thinking about new content ideas. However, I know a few channels have a "fix my list" type series. I really enjoy them, and they do seem pretty popular. I feel like I always learn something from them, and a Death Guard specific one would be unreal!

I bought two sprues from the Dark Imperium box set and have 0 regrets. The LoC model has got to be one of the coolest models in the game.

18:57 - 19:43 your excitement is palpable, and contagious! i picked up Dark Imperium back in the day, kinda got overwhelmed by how much went into building and learning it; just cracked it open again and was dismayed to learn I’m now 2 editions behind. I was seriously considering washing my hands of the whole thing, but figured “well lemme at least look into it a bit first”. Lo and beold, first vid I land on has a knowledgable player break down the DG army in such an easygoing, digestible, contagious-excitement way-all while being super chill and positive and rule-of-cool forward. You’ve not only cleared the bad taste for me but more than rekindled my interest! I’m on track to have a combat patrol’s worth of models ready by end of month, with a gnarly Typhus kitbash curing in the shadows as we speak! Anyway, this timestamp is what really sold me. Found this channel today because I'm feeling the call of Nurgle again. I picked up the Council of the Death Lord when it originally came out and... well the temptation to use Mortarion in a 1k army is just too tempting in 2024. I think adding a Rhino, Typhus and a Foul Blightspawn might be exquisite.

Went a bought my first ever combat patrol to build my stinky boys up some more I'm so excited to get them put together and painted and see what they do this gets me so excited!!!!

I just started 40k last month. Loving Orky boyz but damn do I adore the aesthetic of the DG. Those plague mortars and the Marines just have so much style and appeal to me. DG is def gonna be my second army. I also want to learn to paint on the Orks since if I goof, its Orky. Then get some real detail work in with DG. That and I'll already be working in green and rust paints >.>

The problem that arises from the Combat Patrol is not merely giving you an overabundance of Poxwalkers, though that's part of the "real" problem: it's a bad box if you want to buy it in multiples. Typhus, a named character, can't be fielded more than once in a list. And he's rather distinctive, which will make kitbashing him into a different character tricky. An ideal Combat Patrol, for the customer at least, is one that can be taken multiple times. Because armies are expensive, especially at the highway robbery prices GW charges. Discount boxes are essential for players looking to build their force. The fact that Death Guard get a box with a named character and a bunch of Poxwalkers isn't helpful. Buying it once is good. Buying it multiple times is a waste of money. The box would be better if it had another generic character, and maybe a Daemon Engine as stated in the video. Since GW seems intent on replacing Combat Patrols this edition with new variants, it might be a positive change for Death Guard. Even if, as seems to be the pattern, the new box ends up giving you fewer points and/or models.

As someone who just bought their first Warhammer set (Combat Patrol Death Guard) and is beginning to assemble, I think I’ve found this video, and channel, at the perfect time. Super excited to rep the Plaguey Bois.

I got a really great foundation in the Know No Fear box -- basically Dark Imperium without the two extra characters, and a 5 man plague squad, and only 10 poxwalkers. It might be a bit easier to find than Dark Imperium halves, and pair a bit better with the Combat Patrol to give you 2 units of 20 walkers rather than 50. Still, this is really helpful!

I have to say, what rotten luck for me to choose to look into death guard just after this video series started!

I started the hobby at the end of last year and this is a godsent since my first army will be death guard as well

Just getting back into the hobby after many years away. Was always a fan of Nurgle so clearly Death Guard was the way to go. I switched from Death Guard to regular CSM (Word Bearers) and seeing this, plus finally looking at the index for them for 10th makes me really want to look at Death Guard again. CSM for some reason never felt great to me playing (maybe a big reason why I dislike 10th) but reading the DG datasheets they actually look pretty solid.

I played my first real 10th ed game with my DG, i appreciate the insight and passion!

Thank you for this guide. I just about to finish my first 500 Pts. For me Death Guard is best looking army, giving a lot of fun for building and painting. Lets see how they will perform on the table for me ;)

I started a year and a half ago. Picked up dark imperium, Council of Death guard, and plague fester battle Force. Which was great because I got death guard on sale but I've only built about half and painted pox walkers. Felt so burnt out and under achieving making things worse. I took a 4 month no Warhammer break to bring me back into it. I need to come up with a set paint paint plan and just stick to it. My pox walkers don't look that good but hopefully I can improve a little...

Started this army during COVID... Somehow it felt appropriate.

Great preview of the Death Guard! Can't wait for your next episode. I'm one of those people that skipped the combat patrol because of the sheer number of poxwalkers. I also see that GW seems to be releasing new combat patrol for each new codex release. No doubt, likely giving us less value for the future combat patrol but also likely fixing the # poxwalkers issue. Fingers crossed.

As somebody getting into Death Guard as my first army right now this is adding even more to my hype to get started. Hopefully you'll go into good tactics for us later down the line since that's one thing I'd love to get to know better

Death Guard don't deal damage? I think this is what one of my opponents thought when they heroically intervened a Brutalis into a 6 man Death Shroud Terminator unit that had a LoC on an objective that I had control of. The look on their face when I had massive lethal and Sustained hits due to strats/Buffs.

Nurgle for algorithm.

How do you feel about people who want to play deathguard but don't like the fleshy mutations? I would love to make a more hex or curse themed deathguard army but don't know if people would react poorly.
