Why angel? People don't turn into angels when they die. They r either in hell or heaven depending on wether they were saved or not saved. Angels are lower in rank than humans bytheway. Only archangels are special, those that have special assignment in heaven. Michael is one of them. He is the top, and very near God. Ordnery angels in heaven are servants. They serve people in heaven. They guard us here 2, upon orders from God and Him solely 4 if u pray 2 angels u r sinning.

@@Adriana-vp1rm I'm an atheist. So I dont't believe in god or gods or angels etc. I the same way I know that heart is just a muscle and every psychological process happens in our brain. But these are words that are in the common language, so I do use the word "heart" despite I know its real task, and I do use "angels" to describe G&G simply because I'm unable to find another word to describe them on and outside the rink. This is not a critic on your belief, only I try, maybe badly, to explain you why "angels" are used for them. If you find for me another word I will thank you and will start to use instead of it. Sincerely, without polemics, humbly, Carlo.

i’ve been on an ice skating binge lately, and the day after watching a g&g video.. i began having some chest pains and jaw pain. i have a history of heart disease in my family and have been having a difficult time dealing with that mortality as i get older. i don’t know why i’d never thought to do it before but i made an appointment with a cardiologist for the first time… thank you sergei, thank you katia, for sharing your artistry while you were with us.

Every time I watch pairs, I recognize how special G&G were and how we'll never see their equal. I knew they were different when I saw them in 88. I recognized their greatness then. But, in the last 28 years, I kept hoping to see a similar pair come along. But, just as Ekaterina said of her life, love and happiness with Sergei was like a comet that comes every 17,000 years... So, are G&G in Pairs skating. They were and remain The Best.

I never got to see him during real life time I wish I would have but I was into watching women single figure skating at that time I hadn't got used to watching pair skaters, it kind of scared me watching pair skaters at first especially if they hurt one another during skating but after I got accustom to pair skaters than I enjoyed what it was about.

@@toxic-low-key-ghost7934 There's nothing wrong with that. In my country, there was a famous celebrity who died in his sleep at 27. His colleagues in the industry especially the ones he worked with in variety show immediately gave televised ributes a few days after he passed away. It was just their way of paying tribute and recalling all the memories they had of him.

Well, they were Orthodox. As for Christians, I don't think they were. According to Katia's book that she wrote, they didn't really live as Christians. They had pre-marital sex and she was for abortion. She wrote that she wanted to get an abortion with Daria, but her mom and Sergei convinced her to keep the baby. She thought it was too soon to have a baby while at the top of their career. And Katia herself did not live as a Christian woman even after Sergei died. She had affairs after he died and Daria turned out not too good in many ways. Of course she didn't have her father in her life and that's sad and her mother traveled a lot with skating. Their is a lot to appreciate about them though. They were great, talented skaters, but I don't think Christians. In a way I understand. They came from a eastern European communist country. I did too. So I know how it is. True Christians were very heavily persecuted (as my family was) for being Christians. And in Russia, even more so. In many ways, it's still the same. I think their is still pretty much persecution for true Christians in Russia.

@@biancahotca3244 It doesn't surprise me to hear that. Katia had a dream life since she was born and got spoiled, but ofcourse it is her character too. She was selfish. I'm shocked to hear a wife is even talking about abortion. This is worthy of death penalty. If u want to abort a child, demons enter the child and cause mental issues. As for Katia, she was very selfish, spoiled, and lacking empathy in general. But I also think, she is not a bad person. Do u know if it is true that 20 million Christians were killed in the 80s in Russia?

@@Adriana-vp1rm I've never heard that, but it could be true. Abortions were very common in Eastern Europe, but it is true that abortion is murder. I've never heard of that, so many Christians being killed in Russia during the 80's, but not surprised if it did happen. Your name is very common in my country. My sister has the same name : )).

@@biancahotca3244 Orthodox are Christians. I am Orthodox myself and very religious. I read her book as well and she did mention religion several times and spoke to her priest after Sergei's death and so forth. But I know how religion is discouraged in communist countries and I'm sure that had an effect on her relationship with Orthodoxy.

@@jobastana finally someone says this. In an interview after his death Katia admitted “I was a skater first then a woman then a mother” skating was more important than anything. In the last video of their performance to requiem, you can see how bad he looks, pale, out of breath and his face looks so thick and swollen. If we can see this through a phone screen, then surely she saw being with him all the time. She took a chance on him thinking nothing would happen and it backfired. Also in another interview Katia said she had a feeling of guilt before dasha and Sergei’s mum. She knew he was unwell but earning money was the most important thing. When Sergei was at home in Russia, his mother looked after him and watched his health remembering what happened to Sergei’s father but when they went back to America… And most of their time was spent in the states so Sergei’s mum could not monitor him. Sergei was also very homesick and wanted to live in Russia, not in the states but again… Katia pressed him to continue working and work was in the states

@@toxic-low-key-ghost7934 I keep seeing your toxic ass comments everywhere (really living up to your username lol). You keep speaking of Sergei like he was this meek, little sheep who couldn't stand up for himself and of Katia like she was just always using and manipulating him. Don't you see how disrespectful that is? We don't know what went through Sergei's head, but Katia said that he wanted to skate again in the 1998 Olympics to make up for the little mistakes he made in the long program in the 1994 Olympics (which makes sense since he was a perfectionist). He was working out up to three times a day in an attempt to strengthen his back and I'm sure he would have put his foot down if he was in so much pain that it was unbearable to continue skating. Sure Katia might have been pushing a bit, and Sergei would undoubtedly do anything to make her happy, but I don't think he would push himself way beyond his limits .Athletes tend to push through pain and no one knew just how serious his health problems were. His first, clear symptom was fatal. He was also a stoic and level-headed guy who wanted to support his family and make a great life for them all. You keep blaming Katia for what happened and it's not right!I What happened to him was was inevitable, and incredibly tragic and unfair. It's clear that since Sergei passed that it has been incredibly hard for her and she tried her best, but she's only human. She isn't perfect, but she's incredibly strong and doesn't deserve people making cruel assumptions about what happened and everything she has done since.
