_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

I’m 74 and my great grandparents lost a little four year old boy to the Indians on their wagon train heading west. They stayed in place for a couple of days looking for him, but due to the dangerous times they had to move on and leave him. You are quite the storyteller and I love to hear you talk about such interesting times.

He could have stayed with them. One of my relatives was attacked and he was taken captive. They killed the family but had taken him and his mother, he was 5 at the time and we know he grew up and lived amongst them well into his 40s. but have no idea about the people he was with. He died in Wales in his 60s a broken man according to my great grandmother. Stuck between worlds I think. So he's right, maybe he was taken and stayed with them. It has happened before.

@@Bill-cv1xu I disagree, the earth was made for all. Not just a select few. We’re all from the earth and return to the same place. Only the meek in God’s view will inherit the earth. Some will be resurrected that are in Gods memory. “All those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus’] voice and come out.”-John 5:28, 29. So we must humble ourselves in his eyes to be granted that privilege of living under his kingdom. Man’s time for rule will be over. He has proven to be inadequate.

My husband's grandfather was Muskogee creek indian and used to get beaten for speaking his native language at school, he was put into a Christian school and was told that his language was wrong and against God. So years later as a adult he despised them for this. He would say church pastors were "in the God business" because in his experience at that school.... the money ruled. He always told my husband to judge people on their heart, and merit. Not by what is on the outside

Story was written by white man, like 99 percent of history. So it's in their eyes and their lies that these stories come from. What's really sad is over 10 million indigenous murdered, including women and children. Now they've found over 15,000 native children buried on church grounds, murdered.

Dear Ron, thank you again for sharing our American history with us. Especially in this day and age, we all need to be grateful for whence we have come. The Indians wanted to keep what was rightfully theirs. The white man wanted to take their new found lands. When will man ever learn to share? The music, story and artwork created an atmosphere of being there. Thank you for showing us love and hate, beauty and ugliness. Blessings from Michigan.

We need history good and bad , so we don’t repeat the horrors and can build on the good and do better. This destruction of statues and took of digging confederate soldiers up from national cemeteries is so wrong , those were different times and it was their need to defend their way of life right or wrong , but the outcome took care of most of the issue. You can’t destroy history because you disagree ….it’s everyone’s history

So beautifully told, you certainly are a wonderful narrator. That poor little girl, I keep thinking they didn't have to kill her. She could easily have been caught. I wonder what her life had been before to cause her to be adopted by her aunt. I looked further. Fanny later had three children including a son Joshua who was born shortly after his father's death. Tragedy continued though, two of Joshua'schildren died. A little boy aged about one and a two year old daughter. May they all rest in peace

Wow, Ron. This was one of your most beautiful videos yet. Stunning visuals and music, and masterful storytelling. I also love how, while you told the story of little Mary, and the other settlers whose lives were taken, you also showed much sympathy toward the Native Americans' side of the plight. It truly was tragic, on both sides. This was a truly heartfelt and touching installment. Bravo.

Please pass the puffs. Ive spent 35 years working with the Crow and Cheyenne. Such sad history, Indians and Whites both suffered from each other. Excellent video Ron.

I love all stories of the Oregon trail. A long time ago I read a book about the Oregon trail. I used to live in Oregon and loved to go antique shopping for the Oregon trail. I drove the Oregon trail from Florida to Oregon. I was wondering how in the world they managed to cross with wagons and horses. It was a hard life.

Just watched this. Thank you for another amazing video. So sad for both sides. But as you said this has been happening for centuries all over the world. God Bless little Mary and the rest of the people with her. And God Bless you Ron for bringing us information all the time. Love your channel, have been watching from the start. Barbara from NYC💕🙏
