Michael Dewayne Smith received a lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester and was pronounced dead at 10:20 a.m., Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesperson Lance West said. The Rev. Jeff Hood, Smith’s spiritual adviser, joins "Banfield" to discuss the execution.

And now remember the real victims, their tragedies are really HEARTBREAKING and LACK HUMANITY: Janet Moore (41) and Sharath Pulluru (22) "It’s believed that he killed Ms Moore because he was looking for her son, who Smith thought had given his identity to police. Pulluru was a convenience store clerk, who Smith thought had disrespected his gang."

The constitution does not define the death penalty for murder as cruel and unusual punishment. That preacher is a false teacher and a false christ, who opposes Christ. The very bible that is the foundation for his religion calls for this.

I guess for people who don't agree with the death penalty until we are in the families shoes we won't really know how we'll feel if our loved one was take away. We all have opinions and that is just that opinions and we are all entitiled to it but with the death of a loved one taken away from us in such a brutal way we just can't speak for those grieving the lost of their loved one in such a horrific brutal way.

I don’t think the purpose of the death sentence is about teaching people not to kill, but about ending the life of a person who would continue to do more harm than good if left to live and those whose crimes are so handouts that even if they never do wrong again they don’t deserve our tax dollars to support their life in prison. What I don’t understand is how some serial killers rot in jail and some people get the death sentence seemly fast. The viewers of this clip have no idea what happened to lead to this guys conviction. If he kidnapped, tortured, and then killed people, then yes, I think it was justified to get the death sentence, but if he got in a fight with someone and it escalated to a death, then I need to know how the law thought he should die.

he was high on drugs and killed 2 people and stayed in jail for 20 years before his execution ... he killed a mother(41) because he thought her son had spoken to the police about him ... and killed a convenience store clerk (22)because he thought she had badmouthed his gang ... he also stuck to the narrative that " he didnt kill anyone because he was on drugs and doesnt even remember being arrested"

A few weeks ago I read about a black 12 Y.O. kid who was executed in the 1940's or 50's and it haunts me to this day. ......The white father probably killed the girl but this black kid was blamed......He couldn't see and attorney or his parents......It was worse than the Emmitt Till case.......You would have to be a serial killer or bomber where more than 5 people were killed for me to think the death penalty is acceptable. Also they would have to show no remorse.

@@karenmbbaxter Thank you for mentioning him. His name was George Stinney. He was only 14 when he was executed by the state of South Carolina for a crime he didn't commit. And, as you mentioned, he was a child. I too heard about the horrible injustice committed against him a few months ago, and it's a big part of why I'm now anti death-penalty.
