One point I've tried to make but seems to fall on deaf ears: The word "Mystery" is NOT part of Babylon's title. In the greek, John says Behold A mystery: Babylon the Great. We should keep in mind that it's the REVELATION of John. Not the shrouded mystery of John. Furthermore the angel says I Will Tell You the Mystery. Might I suggest that Babylon is Babylon rising from the ashes. And that's why John marveled. In Genesis Babylon was the BEGINNING of Nimrod's kingdom. In Zechariah the woman in the basket is carried to the land of SHINAR to build a temple for her.

Did Paul say... "All Israel will be saved."? Or did he say something else? Romans Chapter 11: In Romans 1:16 Paul said the Gospel was taken "first" to the Jews. This time period can be found in Matt. 10:5-7, and Acts 10:36-38, and Gal. 1:14-18. Many try to claim God never gave the Jews a chance to accept Christ, so there must be some Plan B of salvation before or during the Second Coming of Christ. Romans 1:16 proves they are wrong, since Paul said the Gospel went "first" to the Jews. Many ignore the fact that Peter addressed the crowd as "men of Judea", and as "men of Israel", and as "all the house of Israel" on the Day of Pentecost, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. The Gentiles were not grafted in until several years later. This passage proves Paul was right about the Gospel being taken "first" to the Jews. Some have changed the word from "so" to "then", in order to change the meaning of the verse. How will all of the "remnant" of Israel from Romans 9:27 be saved? The answer is found in the verses that precede verse 26 and are found below. Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. He started with two different groups of Israelites and he ends the passage in the same way. There are two different groups of "they" in verse 28. Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. Given that the harlot Babylon, the great city, is not Jerusalem, is not the Jerusalem of Revelation, the holy city, polluted by the spirit of harlotry. And the 2 witnesses operate in Jerusalem, against the beast and its harlot riding him, with the redemptive message for Israel. The holy city is pictured as corrupted by the spirit of the Babylon harlot(of Islam) and the beast ending Temple sacrifices. I would agree with Joel with all his contrasts between the two women - the bride and the harlot. Yet the holy city, the bride to be, defended by the 2 witnesses is in a struggle with the foreign harlot city of Babylon and the beast. There is a symbiotic connection which the judgements of God severs and brings all Israel to mourn and call on the name of the Lord for salvation.

Beloved, let the bible interpret itself. To understand the OT you need to know the NT and understand the New covenant. Where your heart is there will be your treasure be also. Lay treasure up in heaven and wait for the promise of New Jerusalem. Is the treasure of your heart Jesus Christ and the Word of God? Or is your treasure here on earth? God is Not a respecter of persons. Beloved beware of false teachers and false prophecy teachers. You didn't include our strongest argument for Jerusalem being the Harlot: that the Beast/10kings attacks Jerusalem and likewise the Beast/10kings turns on the Harlot. ALL prophetic end times scriptures that refer to Jerusalem in a positive light are talking about NEW Jerusalem, which has existed in heaven since at least the time of Christ. 4. Scripture tells us that Jerusalem below is symbolized by Hagar, the Egyptian. Egypt is a type of Jerusalem below. Israel was "birthed" out of Egypt as God's firstborn after the flesh. In Revelation she is called Sodom and Egypt. Jesus told the unbelieving religious leaders that the devil was their father. The Woman clothed with the sun is not Jerusalem below, but Jerusalem above, the heavenly Jerusalem. Jerusalem below is in bondage with her children. Since the beast Babylon represents the world, it would make sense that harlot who fornicates with the kings of the earth would be Jerusalem below. Why did God called Israel a harlot in the Old Testament? Because she sought protection and safety in Egypt rather than in God. God is called those in Jerusalem below, to come out of her, to come to Mount Zion, the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem, just as God told Hagar to return to her mistress and submit to her. In the Old Testament, when Jerusalem committed abominations, God called her a prostitute, an adulterous wife, and Sodom with her daughters. Egypt, Babylon, Sodom and Jericho seem to be symbols. Each had an exodus of God's people. They seem to all be symbols of Jerusalem below, while the literal city of Jerusalem seems to be a symbol of Jerusalem above. When Matthew tells us that the prophecy of God calling His son out of Egypt was fulfilled, it seems to be in the context of Jesus going TO Egypt, not coming FROM Egypt. Jerusalem had become like Egypt, a place of slavery and oppression, not to Rome but to sin. Those that were birthed out of Egypt were a wicked and adulterous generation. Those that entered into the Promised land, the New Jerusalem, are a chosen generation, a holy people. The first generation refers to those in Adam, under the law and under the curse, dead in sin and transgression. The chosen generation refers to those redeemed by Christ and made a new creation. So I'm not so sure that Jerusalem today is or isn't Babylon, but they are very much like the world, and very much in rebellion. John tells us that denying the Son means they are antichrist, and have neither the Father or the Son. Rejecting Jesus they are still children of the devil.
