I dunno, maybe his goal here isn't to be famous. He's achieving exactly what he wanted to- to write, express, make music and have it appreciated. Thank you Deca xxxxxxxxxxxx

How can someone so talented not be famous?
@timj97756 жыл бұрын
The difficult questions/content his work wrestles with aren't digestible to a wide mainstream audience. His work flirts with the esoteric and the ambiguous. This guy could probably be famous if he wanted to, but he's probably doing it for more than the fame or money (I honestly don't know him or his work well enough)... sometimes the best way to live is in the middle, between popularity and anonymity.

@Mr. Mister Aesop has done Feutures with more artist, this is what they do, there is no doubt in my mind Aesop and Deca would make a banger, I mean at first sight Slug and Aesop would not match wel either looking only at their solo work, but they got multiple good tracks.

So in love with Deca rn, probably one of the greatest Hip-Hop artists of his time. Popular Hip-Hop (or Pop-Hop as I'd call it) has little variation in the songs themselves, their lyrical themes are repetitive and over used as well as promoting violence, drug usage and the Hood life. Deca on the other hand is very distinct in both his song writing and rapping.

I think about this song a lot lately, and I think that this is my favourite hip hop song of all time. Everything I love about hip hop and music in general is right there, every time i'm listening to this song i'm feeling good, its pure medicine. Thank you

Same... I've countered people saying there is no good music anymore by saying that there is definitely good music, you just haven't found it and probably haven't really tried. It is a trip that I just found this dude though.. he is so God damn good.. I can't think of another rap artist who spits such understandable and poinent lines. It's all laid out in plain English, I can understand most of his tracks on the first listen. On the other side of the spectrum would be Assop Rock, on the 30th listen I still am only teasing a thread out of the shit he weaves. But I love them both in the same way.. its weird

Just discovered rapp jazz from a comment under kendricks ”i feel something” leak. I feel so intrigued by this genre, it’s so deep and conscious while also being playful and sometimes lighthearted. It kinda projects the place these artist are coming from, about where they are on their journey and how they somehow found a good place to be in themselves and then to be able to express it so beautifully. Very graceful genre. It’s a shame that I am so exposed to petty voices and agendas in our internet culture that I kinda get dragged down by it when in my soul actually want to move to a “higher” place. I don’t know what higher place means exactly, but I'm thinking lighter on the karma, more consciousness and wisdom, lightheartedness, groundedness, balance and harmony type shi. Ps. love yourz Yeah I left J cole reference in their because he set an example. He choose his soul over the entire world telling him to stoop low, everyone expected him to, hell people even got mad that he didn’t. But he real af for that.
