I’ve been using the clipper on my master recently. It’s like hot sauce, I use that sh*t on everything.

BTW guys don't sleep on the input / output gain for driving your material through the clipper, especially if you don't mix at 0db. From what I understand, KNOCK (as with most other tools with a clipper) has a default 0db input threshold to clip, and if you have your tracks trimmed down for mixing there's a good possibility it won't even trigger the clipper. Personally, I've been mixing pretty low (-18db) because it gives me tons of headroom to work with. What that ends up meaning for me is that I really need to drive my signal into KNOCK before the clipper is activated. With my individual drum tracks trimmed down to -18db, that usually means my drums are hitting around -12db which is WAY below the threshold of KNOCK's clipper. This "issue" is easy to resolve though; since my drums are hitting at -12db during the mixing phase, I throw a 12db gain boost before KNOCK so that it's "reading" the signal as reaching the 0db threshold. Then I push it as hard as I want through the FX and the clipper, and then throw a -12db gain reduction after KNOCK's output. This sits them right where they were in the mix before, but *allows me to use the input gain control in KNOCK to drive them as hard as I want through the clipper and the output gain as an additional trimming tool for perceived and metered volume.* DECAP - if you're reading, I think that it would be VERY useful and set KNOCK up as an EVEN BETTER mixing tool if there was a "clipping threshold" control to streamline that whole process (and maybe even make for crazier results for hardcore sound design). Simply put, it would significantly reduce the need to constantly check metering during gain staging, which I actually find to be something I'm constantly observing while using your plugin. This is a feature in Ableton's M4L Color Limiter that I'm a big fan of (and I imagine you're probably aware of), but obviously KNOCK is a ton more versatile than that simple tool. This isn't even a qualm. I love your tool, just something I've been thinking about as a frequent user!

this plugin looks amazing, i'm thinking of getting it to replace the way i currently clip. I have a really weird method of putting on a utility and pushing the sound into sausage fattener to clip it (works insanely well for me) I just gotta find out if its a hard or soft clipper insige sausage fattener now haha. seriously man this looks fantastic

But why does the curve happen on the lower intensity of the clipper? I think it’s got some to do with sine waves vs square wave type processing. The soft clip process those peaks as a sine wave?? Idk but that’s my guess

doesnt the saturation knob already round off the transient? or is it just adding extra harmonic content
