I agree with another comment that the dress you like least is the one I like most on you. You have a lovely curvy figure - I say show it off! Great makes and another inspiring video💕🇨🇦

Thank you! I don't think it looks bad, I just prefer things to skim more over the area. I've had way too many comments from people asking me if I'm pregnant... 🙄 I think being a midwife, pregnancy is always on the brain of everyone at work.

So happy you reviewed this pattern as I am thinking about buying it! I have a large bust for my petite frame and am always hacking t-shirt patterns about to get a half decent fit. I think this might be the answer and save me a lot of trial and error. Your versions all fit so well. Thank you. 😊

That green dress is knock out! I know you say you feel a little uncomfortable in it but you look amazing! Pop on some shapewear underneath maybe- I do that when wearing something a bit closer fitting, just for a bit of extra confidence 😊

The dress you like the least looks the best on you (from my point of view)😂. They are all 4 amazing additions to your winter wardrobe. I guess I better print that pattern. If your curvy, you can’t beat Cashmerette! Useful and entertaining video. Thanks.

Great makes for December. I’m not the right body type for the grafton/ cashmerette patterns. Love notions has a similar square neckline and I’ve made a few of those. Stay cozy!

The great thing about sewing is that we can all find the perfect patterns for us. It is certainly a nice thing to have a square neck option just to change things up. Trying my best to stay cozy, hope you are too!

The benefits of skipping Vlogmas... Time for Graftons. I ❤ all your versions. I don't have this pattern because I own other patterns that achieve similar looks that fit me. I just made the Love Notions Lenox top which has a square neck and princess neck option. Its achieved by a clever neckband technique. I haven't posted it yet on my Instagram but I will try to do that this week. I used the upper bust measurement to choose my size and used the full bust option this time, what a difference!

I look forward to seeing your Lenox Top. I'm not familiar with that particular love notions pattern. I do always appreciate a clever construction. And yes! Getting the high bust right really does make all the difference in the world. The Grafton are pretty quick makes. I probably could have made them, no matter what. 😆

This Grafton pattern looks like amazing value and your makes look great. I really feel that the dress from the DBP fits you super well. The one you cut with more ease looks a bit baggy, and on the top I don't think you need to cut a 12? But, I do understand that people may tell you something looks great but you just don't like it to fit a certain way, so I really do get that. That last Grafton out of the Joanne's DBP is smashing!
@LostMyThread

Thank you so much! I prefer a different fit depending on the style. I like how they all came together. It's all about personal preference, at the end of the day. And isn't that the great thing about us being able to sew our own clothes?

It's funny how we have parts of our bodies that we don't like but honestly love all of your Grafton makes but the last dress looks amazing on you 😍 what a versatile pattern though. I haven't made any cashmerette patterns yet but am fed up of doing fba's so I really want to give them a try 😀

Thank you! It really doesn't help that I'm a midwife, and my co-workers are the worst at asking people if they're pregnant - even if they have the tiniest bit of tummy sticking out. It really puts me off wearing anything that clings over the tummy. 🙄😔

Have added I to my bag about 10 times, keep telling myself I don't need another dress pattern 😂. Resistance likely futile. Can I ask if the square neckline has the same depth as the Carlyle please? I felt like I needed to raise that a smidge to get the proportions right for me. I tried on a dress with square neck and bishop sleeves in a charity shop last week and might need to recreate it!😊
@LostMyThread
@LostMyThread 6 ай бұрын
Hahaha, I completely understand your reluctance. I do love the options that you get with this one, though. I haven't actually made the Carlyle, so I can't say whether it's the same depth. I'm sure Cashmerette would tell you if you messaged them, though. They're good at responding to questions quickly. Yes, square neckline with bishop sleeves... All the cool kids are wearing them. 😉

Why not make a bunch of versions of a pattern if it has so many variations and it fits you so well? Work away... I'd watch a dozen orf your videos on the same pattern, as one of my favourite things about sewing is how different a pattern can look in different fabrics and with slight tweaks, and I love hearing about your reasons for your choices. I think the olive DBP dress looks great. Do you have enough fabric scraps left to piece together a waist tie? Sometimes, if I feel a little self-conscious about a jersey dress that's fitted over the stomach, I add a tie, as a knot or bow break up the area and kind of misdirect the eye, which makes me feel more comfortable.
@LostMyThread
@LostMyThread 6 ай бұрын
That's a really nice idea. Unfortunately, I don't have any of that fabric left over. In the end, it was all tiny scraps, which I've never gotten rid of. It is still a great dress, and I'm hoping to get more comfortable in it. I agree though, seeing multiple versions of the same pattern is always fascinating in its own way.
