Id like to get into transformers, but i don't know where to start. I want something a bit more serious than the original series, but still fun, not as bland as the later bay movies

I'd recommend transformers animated to start. It's slightly goofy but has some serious episodes too. In fact a lot of modern day transformers are based off that series. After that I'd recommend prime, it's pretty good overall. But if you more into well written stories and good characters, beast wars is the way to go, my friend.
