ASPI military analyst Malcolm Davis says it is “way too early” to speculate on the cause of the helicopter crash involving Iran’s President.
A helicopter carrying Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has been involved in an accident in the north of the country.
“The pilot took the helicopter into mountainous terrain in bad weather and fog which I think was a very imprudent move on his part,” Mr Davis said.
“Now the situation is that rescue teams are trying to find the helicopter to determine if the occupants have survived.”
