One way I lile to remember the standard deck ratio is that you start with 17 g0s(starter plus triggers),and substract 3 as you go up each grade:17->17-3=14->14-3=11->11-3=8

You honestly have one of, if not the best card channels around. I got into vanguard roughly 2 years ago and NONE of my friends play it, and trying to teach them was so rough. Thankfully I have this series to show them! You also help me expand my knowledge, as I said I am still relatively new. Your videos are so informational and very entertaining!

I can explain the yugioh ratio thing. Some cards are powerful, but can be considered bricks that you wouldn’t be able to make plays from if you draw them. Let’s say Gem-knight Garnet who has no ability and fairly weak. He can’t extend, but you can use brilliant fusion to send him from the deck(not hand) to the graveyard to fusion summon Gem-knight Seraphinite who let’s you gain an additional norman summon. Just an example of the many ways cards aren’t always maximized.
@BoldAndSpicy5 жыл бұрын
I would say pot of desires is a better example of this and what he was talking about. It forces you to mill 10 cards off your deck and place them in basically an unusable state, but in return you get to draw 2 cards. This is a great trade off if you do it once in a game but its also not usually a card that you need to see in order to be able to win, in other words its nice to see. However if you draw another one from the first one, now you're paying a pretty hefty price to go +2 (basically milling half your deck and possibly making cards you need unusable) if you use the new one you draw. So now you either have a high risk situation or a dead card. If you only run two as opposed to 3 in a 40 card deck it reduces the risk significantly enough that its rarely an issue. Hence why its usually ran with 2 so that its good if you see it but okay if you don't.
@kaiserdragon12064 жыл бұрын
You both made excellent points. In yugioh, the difference in ratios means you will see a particular card more often or not on your beginning hand. Most deck run a 40 card decks, so they want to max out on what we call starter cards while we leave the boss monsters in the 1 copy.
@rescuerex70314 жыл бұрын
Also with Yugioh consistency is everywhere, Floating, Searching, and Drawing so even though like Vanguard it's a lot about Building and breaking Boards Vanguard doesn't have the same level of consistency

I agree with all of these! I’m a casual, I don’t play tournaments, and can’t really deck build at all so I always stick to certain things to help. The ratio, always run 4 if the card is essential to the deck, and I netdeck especially with premium. Standard I can kind of get a feel for how to build the deck cause there isn’t many cards to choose from. But if you initially gave me every card from a clan and told me to make a deck I’d have no idea what I would be doing. So what I do is I make an excel sheet on google drive, then I pull up two or more deck lists of the clan and build I want (for example “great nature bigbelly success deck” or “pale moon Harri Magia deck”). Then I compare the lists. If both lists run a card at 4 then I know that card is important and I’ll add 4 to the excel sheet. So I do that first. Then after, for example if they run 2 separate cards then I’ll read the abilities and see which one id like more. If I’m unsure I go for the cheaper one lol. If they’re both cheap I’ll buy both and see which one is easier for me to play with. The excel sheet helps me keep track of all the cards, how many should be in the deck, how many of a card I have, how many I need, and a link for me to look at the card and see it’s ability. Great video!

I agree with netdecking. People hating on it are just salty mofos who can't win with their original builds. What I've always done is netdeck (if I'm not familiar with the clan) then tweak it constantly until I become comfortable with it.
@devaraft5 жыл бұрын
Isn't netdecking and tweaking it a norm? I mean, I do have my own build for fun but netdecking is definitely acceptable.
@Goobrino5 жыл бұрын
@@devaraft You'd be surprised as to how many people think that netdecking makes you a bad player because they think original is the best.

@@Goobrino I honestly don't see the appeal of 100% netdecking but I don't mind if some people do. I mean it's only a game, why do one even get mad over people's preferences anyway
@Jachidos5 жыл бұрын
You guys misunderstand. Netdecking isn't the problem when you learn to properly play it and even twerk it a bit. What is looked down upon is people netdecking the day before a tournament and expecting to win without any practice, as if the deck would just play itself.
@Goobrino5 жыл бұрын
@@Jachidos We didn't misunderstand. You might be the one who did. I don't have a problem with netdecking, the other people do.

The extra draws are crucial in standard like for typical accel clan ( aqua,naru,nova) they need extra draw in order to collect their combo pieces as fast as possible and keep the hand consistent. Also i really think that standard is a matter of speed in the game.

I play gear chronicle for standard format. From what I red from net, I should play 10:11:12 (g3>g1). But some people run 10:12:11, 11:11:11. I tried first recommendation but 1 over 15 get to bind equal to g19 against my brother's royal paladin soul saver palamedes

Highly doubt this'll be seen BUT i play yugioh and my friend plays both magic and yugioh. I saw some guys at my locals playing and i was drawn to it since. It took me some time but i finally decided I want to play. My friend offered to join me as where i live there is barely a vanguard playerbase. I chose to pick up a Bermuda triangle trial deck and we recently found your videos and have been watching the first 3 on repeat until we're comfortable to move on.

Just starting to play vanguard recently, and I want to start in standard, but I don't really have any card shops near by that play anything other than magic. I was wondering if you or someone in the comments could let me know what the pool of cards standard draws from. For example is it just the unite team q4, al4, miyaji academy, and vilest, or are there other cards too. I ask because I saw a dimension police standard profile on youtube, but from the card lists none of those sets have dimension police.
@BboyTurok19904 жыл бұрын
Dimension Police is mostly on extra boosters like My Glorious Justice and Asia Circuit Champion extra booster.

Thing is... you cant guard with monsters like you can in CFV, and with more deck toolboxing you're more likely to search something else at certain parts of the game... especially if it's a normal summon effect So wanting to see a card sometimes but not all the time is warranted for other card games
@SolemnVanguard5 жыл бұрын
+Michael Fangre But yugioh games are generally decided on turn 1. So consistency of seeing specific things in 5/40 cards is more important than ever.

Roughly how expensive is it to build a good deck with vrs and all those rares?
@SolemnVanguard5 жыл бұрын
For standard, most competitive decks will be between 150 and 300. (Usually between 150-200... some are just extra expensive) For premium, it's extremely clan-reliant. Some competitively viable decks are only 60$ whilst others are 200$ or even 400$.
