I bought this unit a couple months ago for a deck project on my son's house. It was very easy to use and the finished deck looks fantastic. I know I'll be using it on the next one as well.

this tool looks amazing. i want one. one thing... the kit should also include some kind of tool to get a perfect "screwing" for the 4x4 posts. when you want to make it stronger ,especially when you have the post on an inside corner and all you have is the 1/4 of the post to secure it...

This looks like a way better system then the camo. The angle is better and won’t show the screw holes from the top. I have a few Kreg tools already and will be adding this one to my collection.

Sweet. You go Kregg. Love it, need it

This system looks like a better screw installation than the Camo system. The screws appear to be better set away from the edge and are less visible on the finished deck installation than the Camo screws. Plus the Kreg screws are threaded like regular wood screws and can be backed out if needed. Reviews for the Camo screws say backing them out can be a disaster.

Wayne Eickert Wrong ! Reason why is Camo is much more faster. In two ways You can drill in two screws with out moving the tool. And with Jeg system you have to pre drill before you put screw in. So it's 4 times slower then camo. System. But none of that matter cause as far as I'm concerned you are a Rep or salesman for Jeg to make a false statement saying the Jeg is faster.
@1petrofski4 жыл бұрын
@@shadowwolf2742 it's Kreg not Jeg! And he didn't say it's faster than Camo anywhere? drilling in hard woods it's better to have seated pilot hole than relying on self tapper to clear out the hole Imho

My other question is, is all Kreg jig products use Kreg Screw and if so, I am screw.

Can this be used on a hardwood floor to stop shifting?
@KregToolCompany5 жыл бұрын
It's designed to be used with almost any type of decking material (ACQ/treated lumber, composite material, and even exotic woods such as Ipe). You can learn more by viewing the product page, video, and product manual at www.kregtool.com/store/c24/deck-jigtrade-and-accessories/p263/deck-jigtrade/

Does anyome have any feedback for this system? Im just think about over time with the boards drying out would the board split down the side and cause it to be loose? Or would the middle of the board start to bow up over time?
@handytbutler73806 жыл бұрын
i actually used camo on my deck. takes a long time to do all those screws and with camo you don't have to predrill so im a little sketchy on this tool. i cant imagine having to predrill then put the screw in, that would really take forever
@chrisstromberg65275 жыл бұрын
@@handytbutler7380 The predrilling prevents wood splitting! If the wood splits, you compromise holding power.
@1petrofski4 жыл бұрын
Also the pre drilling seats a flat section for head of screw to bear into increasing holding capacity

Can it be used with Trex Boards or just the trex edging boards
@KregToolCompany2 жыл бұрын
It works with composite decking, as well as solid-wood decking such as cedar, hardwoods, and pressure-treated wood - kiln-dried after treatment (KDAT) recommended. This will work with any composites that have square edges. You will not be able to use it with the grooved edged boards.

the spacing needs to be so a stiletto heel can never go through, unless you want to break your wife's neck, green wood will always shrink, a 6" board will shrink more then a 4" board, decks i built with pressure treated 2"x 4"s and 1/8" spacing are as solid today as they were 20 years ago, i did top screw them but i would try this hidden screw system
