Thank you for writing this song. Brings tears to my eyes. My parents came here to America after the war, went through hell and back. Likewise I know that they're are others that have been through this to. My parents are no longer with me. Life is unpredictable. But it does get better. I pray for you all.

Peter West If you're referring to the Falklands, then you're correct, but there's do many anti war songs, War , by Edwin Starr that are so iconic. Depends on the era as there's a lot of great anti war songs( Floyd, Dylan, Ronstadt, Green Day, Motorhead, Browne) etc.

Peter West Brothers in Arms was written after the Argentine/British war over the Falklands,but I'm sure it's applicable to near any war. Nice to see you reply 4 years later!!

Peter West It's a powerful song in anyone's language just so much better live, with the fat guitar sound, I've said this before MK could play my broom handle and make it sound like a sweet Gibson guitar

i am relatively new to finding dire straits (listened through their whole catalogue earlier this year) but i love how on every single ds/mk video i click on, they all praise mark as the greatest guitarist of all time. it is the inly constant in todays world
