@@PhukIT1865 i actually thought the flute added a nice touch to the song. But ur right it should have been lower because it drown out Knopfler a bit ..

The Sailing to Philadelphia tour was amazing. Saw him in Boston where James Taylor came out and played with him. Just dynamite.

Thank you for putting this up. I love the rythym of this song that gives a feeling of movement. Marks understated ...wait for it.....wait for it...style drives me insane. I've seen him live 5 times. First time i saw him was in 1982 at Wembley. Last time i saw him was again at Wembley performing with Emmylou Harris. I am absolutely sucked in by his guitar playing and overwhelmed. No guitar playing reaches me quite like Mark Knopflers does. The solo at the end of the Tunnel of love blows me away.

wrongly spotted my friend... Mark has named the flute player, who by the way is Mike McGoldrick, as the best flute player in the world... check the whole concert when Knopfler introduces his band members... and listen then to the audience when the name of Mike McGoldrick is pronounced by Mark...

Comments of Mark being peeved by the flute solo 😅 Mark would have said something in rehearsal prior to going on stage. Imo, Mark gestured to do your thing...he's the consummate band leader letting everyone shine around him. Long live Mark Knopfler 👍

I've listened to the whole concert and I know the introductions after sultans of swing. Mark still looks pissed at 3:55. He holds up his hand as if saying "why are you playing at this moment" I say he looks pissed... He seemed like a nice guy when I met him back in 2005

He is constantly waving his hand of his guitar if you look closer. And why would he be pissed when everything has been planned.. if the flute player was not supposed to play? Why would the violin player join? Makes no sense. They are all brilliant musicians and Mark loves them.
