This is just a short, fast-motion video showing how I took a plain (well, with polka dots!) binder and added some scraps of vintage fabrics to it, to dress it up a little! You can certainly use new fabric scraps!
I made this binder to keep track of materials for a class I am taking. It's helping me feel much more creatively inspired, which is important for the class I'm taking! :D
All you need to do this fun little project is:
* a binder (mine is an older Martha Stewart for Staples brand)
* 1-inch wide double-sided tape (I love this brand: amzn.to/3xWqZSt) (affiliate link)
* a piece of Tyvek paper (cut to whatever size you like!) (Tyvek paper can be found on Amazon: amzn.to/3bh6y8Q (affiliate link)
* fabric scraps and trims
Instructions:
* measure and cut Tyvek to fit your binder
* add strips of double sided tape to back of Tyvek
* peel off backing from tape
* apply Tyvek to binder, smoothing and wrapping from front to back
* add strips of double sided tape to Tyvek on front ONLY
* peel off backing from tape
* add fabric scraps to front
* add a strip of double sided tape (or more strips if using narrower tape) to the spine
* smooth fabrics from the front to wrap around onto the spine
* add strips of double sided tape to back cover Tyvek
* peel off backing from tape
* add fabric scraps to back
Let me know if you have any questions!! Happy crafting!! xoxo Amy :)

Aww, you are always so kind, Tracie! Thank you!! I don't think you follow me on Instagram, but back in October I shared that I am scaling Kittywitty Papercraft back to just being a hobby. I just was not able to find a good work-life balance to justify the little money I was making, plus it's getting harder and harder to run an online business that has to rely heavily on social media and playing the algorithm game and trying to hold people's attention. It was just sucking the life out of me. lol So, I may make some videos and journals here and there, but they are so time consuming to make and I'm working on some other things in my life now, that I'm just not sure. My Etsy shop is open still for supplies and I may occasionally add handmade things in. Thank you for all your support over the years!! It truly means the world to me!! Happy new year!! 🤗💖💖💖💖

This is adorable! I can see why it would keep you motivated in your class, it’s just so cheerful! Curious why you needed to use Tyvek? Couldn’t you just adhere double sided tape to the binder directly? By the way, Love your Etsy shop too! 🌸🤗🌷

Thank you so much, Shelly!! Yes, I could have just adhered the tape directly to the binder! The main reason I put the Tyvek down first was so I could create a defined area for where I wanted to put the fabric down! The white Tyvek made it a lot easier to see vs just having see-through tape there! Hope that makes sense! Please let me know if you have any other questions! And thanks for watching! xo Amy :)
