I am amazed that the window turned out looking so nice, for 2.50, wow! I have a suggestion, of course for later on. Could you perhaps place a privacy fence between you and the neighbor, then plant some pretty climbing roses, clematis, or honeysuckle, and a small herb garden? That would be such a lovely view to have while letting in the natural light. Just a suggestion for the future. Enjoy your beautiful new home!

OMG that's the perfect window for an herb garden. Make a long planter to custome fit the window. All you do is set an alarm on your phone to water once per week and they'll grow even with a brown thumb. You'll have fresh herbs all year round ❤

Another idea for the window is to “paint” it with white school glue. It gives a frosted look with more texture.

We just moved to another state last spring. I am just now reorganizing my kitchen to be functional. I haven't ever had pull-out drawers, built-in knife blocks, and all of the fancy cabinet arrangements found in today's kitchens. Understanding how to use them has been a challenge. I'm figuring it out! I can relate to what you said about unpacking and using space "for now."

I found a decorative frosted window film at Lowe’s. So you have the frosted background and clear designs. Blocks the neighbors and still lets the light in so you done feel like you don’t have a little bit of a view of the outdoors The house is looking great !!!

May the Lord bless your family in you new home with warmth, love and grace. As a former Navy wife, now married for over 54 years, we've moved many times. We are facing our greatest moving challenge as we declutter and pack for a much smaller space, our final home. We are packing so many things, the most delightful is our memories and photos. You have many memory making moments ahead for each of you! Nancy, from Davenport, Florida.

Ah, unpacking after moving in, boy do I remember that & the brown corrugated "decor"! You're in your forever home, so don't knock yourself out overdoing the unpacking. Your kitchen is lovely, looks like you have quite a bit of storage & yes add those pullouts. I used "Rev-A-Shelf" in my kitchen cabinets, so glad I did, they are just great. You can get them at Lowes or Home Depot, so worth it. Enjoy decorating your new home!

I may have another solution for the window in your kitchen. It’s called Gallery Glass stained glass paint. From Michael’s. I used it in a bathroom window. I got either clear or a slightly opaque-ish clear. I stippled it on with a paint brush. It looked like a pebbled frosted glass. It’s also removable. Though you may be happy with the contact paper, I don’t know because I haven’t finished your video. 😂 I thought I’d post it as it might be the right solution for someone else. Now, back to your video. 😊 In case anyone is wondering. The Gallery Glass paint blurred the view a little more than the contact paper.

Hey, my girl. How are you on this precious day that God has set aside for you? I loved last week's video. You are the very first one that I saw sheers and draperies at the window. I am 73 years better and I love the look and have always dressed my windows like that. I have done other homes and introduced them to the look. It is timeless. Yes, pace yourself Natalie. You can buy frosted contact paper with patterns; probably even "stained glass" patterns as well. Perhaps The Home Depot has them. It may be expensive but if you find one you really like you can keep it there for years. Do you have under cabinet lighting to brighten it up a bit more; because of the colour of your counter tops.

Try cotton quilting fabric on your window. There is almost unlimited choices. Very easy to attach, use 1 to 1 ratio of liquid starch and water. Cut the cotton slightly larger then you need, for your window I would add 4" to the length and width. Put the material in the mixture then squeeze it all out and attach to the glass and smooth out.trim around and done. The beauty is the light gets through on light fabrics and jut pull off when you want a new look.

It doesn't matter if it takes 2 years to sort out a house. No matter how much prep or planning goes into moving - reality is so different. As removal men are in big demand - it was like a conveyor belt getting the stuff into my house - the couch made it through the front door but didn't want to go any further (door frames were smaller in new place). So I put what I could away in the attic or front room and closed the door. It's said you have to live in a house before you do anything with it - cosmetically or structural as one's original plans / ideas & the functionality of the rooms change. It's given me something to do at weekends - de-cluttering, re-cycling & donating to charities. One's possessions look different in new surroundings mixed in with items purchased while perusing the charity shops (treated myself). Hope you're happy in your new house 🍾🥂🤞🙂🍀.

Just a suggestion, when you get ready to upgrade that window. over the backsplash, consider commissioning a stained glass artist to make you a beveled glass window to cover the existing window. It allows light but you’d have privacy and it would look classy. I have something similar on my front door.

I would put a gorgeous lace valance across that window! I had a window just like that, but in my living room in our old house. I went to a shop and had a metal rod (very small diameter) cut to length, and used some small mounting brackets to hang it from. Used a beautiful lace valance. I gathered mine about 1 and 1/2 times. You could go straight or gathered slightly or a lot.

I used Rustoleum Frost spray. I bought it at Home Depot. You find it in the spray paint section. You just spray it on the glass and it gives it the frosty look. It allows light in, but it gives you privacy. It is also removable if you don't like it or you want to change it up.

When we built our home, a window like that would have overlooked our neighbor's roof. Our solution was to put a backsplash of glass block. Some might say it's out of style, but 35 years and one remodel later, I kept the block - we got the light without the view.

I have a few of these windows( I live in FL too, so not sure if this is a FL thing)…anyways I cut a frame out of a one by two the inside dimension of my window. I took a contact paper and peeled the paper off, put tissue paper ( I cut bamboo like leaves, but you can do anything) and laid them on the contact paper, then put contact paper on top, “sandwiching” my design in middle, then stapled that to my frame and finished it out. I get a ton of compliments on my window. They also make sprays, and films for privacy.

I think the sill underneath your kitchen window would be a great place for plants, herbs etc

I would have planted camellias or some lovey plantings to keep the clear glass. The frosted window is not the solution in my opinion, I do adore this channel

Well done! And Mr. Callahan, just in the nick of time you came to the rescue! 🤭On both projects! PS. Realize you have a TON of projects, and this suggestion may not even be in your thoughts, but it will make a HUGE impact in changing the warmth of the painted areas into a shade that you may find more livable. And the reason I bring it up now is you have a perfect example of the benefits. What is the cheapest option to instantly change a space that isn't paint? It is lighting. Specifically replacing unmatched light bulbs. You chose a white cool daylight for your chandelier, now if you match all other light sources with the same Kelvin Color Temperature (no one comes between me and my Calvins. HA) it will TOTALLY change, update your space and your mood. Makes wall color look cleaner! Look on the package of bulbs you used for your chandelier find the KCT and buy the same for all bulbs at least in the down stairs for a cohesive uniform look. Rent a light bulb pole if you don't have one for those high ceilings and get them out stat! Love the NAT healthy crazy foods cabinet. Continued GREAT health and wellness to you! XO
